Can I ask a dumb question?

I just recently found this wonderful forum. I have been reading post in this forum DVC Rent/Trade. What I want to ask is, can anyone rent from a owner or do I have to belong to DVC? I went to DisneyWorld in July for the first time and I am in love. I can't wait to go back. I would really like to stay at Disney property but find most rates really out of my range for the time I would like to stay there. I usually stay longer than 7 days. So, I just wanted to know if I can rent off of a owner in the future. Thank you!! Have a great Day!! Amigatu

Yes you can rent someone elses points. They would make the reservation and you would pay them. Some people do contracts some do not. DVC works on points. It takes more points to stay on the weekend than on a weekday and it varies from resort to resort and time of year. There are studios clear up to resorts that sleep up to 12. The great thing about DVC units is you have a kitchen which can really save you money.

I suggest you read as much as you can here about each resort and the unit sizes etc. and then look at the DVC rent/trade forum on these boards. Be sure to check out the points calculator to find out how many points and where you want to rent. Points are usually around $10-$11 a point.
