Can I apply the BRP rate to an existing reservation?

Still trying to figure out the ins and outs of the BRP. I have an existing ressie for 2 nights at ASMo, and have paid one night as a deposit. I just went on the AP website to check out the BRP for those 2 nights. Looks like I could save $40 per night.

So is it possible to apply the BRP to my existing reservation, since I've already paid more than enough up front? Or do I need to book the BRP online, and then cancel my existing reservation? I do understand that the one night deposit would be nonrefundable under the BRP rules.

Anyone know the answer? Thanks very much! :)

I'm pretty sure you have to book the Best Rate Plan then cancel your existing reservation. Your deposit would be credited back to you, and you'd pay the one night (non-ref.) for the Best Rate Plan rate.
I don't think you can just "transfer" the reservation.

Hope this help :)
