Can I apply a used ticket to an AP renewal?

Our DVC Gold APs expire March 1, so we can renew them starting Dec. 31. Could we use 2-day tickets to enter parks on Jan. 1 & 2, then on Jan. 2 upgrade/apply those tickets to renew our APs (and maintain the renewal date of March 1)?

you probably need to call, because you may even be able to renew and get the 13 months for 12months promotion that they're running

Yes, you can. But you need to find a CM with enough experience to complete the transaction it is not very common at all and many won't know how to handle it. You'll probably be turned away a couple times before you find someone who knows how to process it.

This isn't something that people in my role are trained to do. The procedure I use to apply an existing ticket to an AP renewal wouldn't work on a used ticket. This doesn't mean it can't be done - plenty of people on the boards have done it. Guest Relations is your best bet, and there's no guarantee that everyone there will know how to do it either.

Thanks, y'all. To prevent anxiety , I'll probably go back to the original plan, which was to upgrade current Gold to Platinum APs and keep the 2-day tickets unused to apply to the renewal. More expensive but not as expensive as losing the cost of the 2-day tickets completely!

And even applying a ticket to renewal has some of the CMs scratching their head/saying it can't be done, etc. I called the AP line and asked about applying a ticket that I bought in error (Disney website had a glitch and charged me for two two day hoppers when I ordered one). First CM told me that I could not do that and my ticket would expire (WTH?) I asked for a supervisor and that person was like no, it won't expire if you want to just hang on to it (so I attached it to my hubby for the time being as he doesn't go very often).

It is useless to "call Disney" for any kind of procedural info.
You can get an "answer," but if you call 3 more times, you can get 3 different "answers."
