Trying to figure this all out..

We have a room at the Wilderness Lodge, standard room. There are three of us in the family. My parents, so two more people, are going to join us. They will buy three day tickets while we have longer five day tickets.

Can I somehow add their tickets to our reservation and have us all listed for the same hotel room so they can get MagicBands and use the hotel with us or are their a maximum that can be in the room? They don't need to go to the parks on the same day as us, right? They might stay in the room for a night.

If we cannot add them to the room how can we link our theme park days so we can all get FP+s together and use the same photopass?

WL standard rooms have a max capacity of 4. Disney is strict about this, so you're going to be out of luck with getting both 'on your reservation.'

Not sure about the answer to your second question.

Does everyone in the same room need the same type of park tickets? We have 5, they have 3 day.

Only if your reservation is a package. If you booked a room only reservation and purchased tickets separately you can have different types of tickets. Regardless, you don't need to use your tickets on the same days or visit the same parks. If adding them to the reservation will exceed the room occupancy limit - which it appears it will - then you will not be able to add them both. You could set up a separate MDE for your parents with their own tickets and then link them to your MDE as friends/family for the purpose of grouping your fast passes and other trip planning. They can buy magic bands if they would like to have them but they really don't need them.

This.

Also, how old is the third person in your family? If she/he is under 3, you'll be able to add your parents to your reservation as rooms can sleep 4 plus one under 3. If your parents are not staying at a WDW resort, keep in mind that they won't be able to book FP+ under 30 days prior compared to the 60 days that onsite guests receive. When their booking window does open, they won't be able to book FP+ for their length of stay, and will instead need to book on a rolling basis. For example, today I'd be able to book for 10/8, and tomorrow for 10/9, etc.

I'm pretty sure if OP's parents have an MDE with just tickets linked to OP's friends and family, OP can book the same fast passes for all of them when the OP's onsite booking window opens up - rather than the parents having to wait until the 30 day mark.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that - which of course I just might be!

Yes. I often booked FP+ at 60 days for us in our room, and friends who were not staying on property. As long as your MDE accounts are connected as Friends & Family you can book their FP+ with yours.

Agree with PPs. Unless your 3rd is a "baby" then your occupancy will not allow them to be added to or sleep in your room.

You cannot add them to your room because the room capacity at WL is 4 people, and they exceed it. But you won't have any problem with getting fastpasses for them.

1. If they don't have their own MDE account then you can add them to your account. Then you would simply link their tickets to their profiles on your account. They don't need to have a resort reservation in order to be linked to your account. Then it will be easy to get fastpasses together.

2. If they already have a MDE account then you just need to share as family and friends.

As long as you can see their tickets in your MDE account then you can make fastpasses together.

Now if you want them to be able to access your resort room so that they can use it to visit you, then you can either ask for a key card at the desk, or give them a MagicBand from one of your earlier trips. The could buy a MagicBand for their tickets, but it can't be linked to your room.

:)

Hmm, I didn't know that! Interesting. My best friend lives in Florida (and has an AP, like us) and is linked to my MDE account, but I've never been able to make FP+ for her when our 60-day booking window opens. I'll be interested to see if I can do so when I make FP+ in October for December. She always joins us for a day or two, but I don't add her to our reservation until she arrives at BLT.

We have two hotel stays for this trip so are listed in the system as getting two sets of MagicBands. Can we take the second set, unlink them from our account somehow, and then link them to their MDE account?

Strange. We have friends in Orlando that meet up with us and I've been able to book theirs for as long as I can remember.

No, MagicBands cannot be unlinked from your account. But if you are getting two sets of MagicBands then both sets will work for both of your rooms. Since you only need one set of bands you can give the other set to your parents so that they can access your room. They will have to use their plastic tickets for park entry and fastpasses. They will not be able to link their park tickets to your MagicBands.

If you can see her ticket in your MDE account then you will be able to include her when you get fp's at 60 days out. We have been able to do that for our friends for a long time now, since they set up the system. And our friends were able to add us to their fp's when they made them at 60 days out a few weeks ago.

Your friend doesn't have to be added to your reservation in order to make the fps for her, but her tickets must be visible in your MDE account. :)

No - as others have said that room max occupancy is 4.

Alternately - you could look into booking a villa at WL, we booked the boulder ridge studio villa at the same price as a WL room and they sleep 5. If you have a room only reservation you can add your parents and purchase tickets separately for any length you like.

Regardless of where they are staying you can add them to your DME, link their tickets and take care of their fp+ and ADR's. For FP+ if they are going on the same attraction with you at the same time you can make the FP+ for all of you together at T60. Otherwise you can make theirs at T30. They can use their park ticket for access to the parks and FP+ no need for a MB, or you can purchase them prior to the trip or once you arrive.

Thanks! I've always been able to see her tickets, but not able to make FP+ for her. It'll be wonderful if I'm able to in October!

You should - my sil niece and nephew live in FL, I have them on my mde and always make them FP+ along with ours for at least one day of our trip. I have done this at least once a year since MDE started! They do have to share the FP+ with at least one member of the party that is listed on the reservation though.

If u want, u can also add just one of your parents to your reservation. That Parent would then have their own a magic band and be able to come and go to your room easily.

Would I add them as new people on my account or create an account for them and link them? They don't have their own account right now so they don't care either way what happens.

I look into that but they jack the room price up by a hundred bucks for adding a 4th person.

It's the extra adult fee. After two adults it's about $25 a night per night for each additional adult.
