Can I add DH to contract later?

I'm heading to the world next week and will tour BLT models and probably be ready to sign the papers that day (paying entire balance on cc). Obviously I'd like my DH's name as owner as well. Can I add him later or will I need to finalize the paperwork at home the following week?
TIA

You can institute the process and get the papers sent home for him to sign. I suspect you can pay the deposit then but am not certain in this situation. If you complete the entire transaction without his info and signatures, the only way to add him would be to later change the deed just like you were selling. This incurs aggravation and costs just like any RE closing.

That's what I was thinking too, but wasn't sure. Somehow, I don't think DH will let me be the sole owner of our DVC:laughing:

I'm not sure it's possible to close when you sign up. I thought they had to process the closing documents, etc. I'd think you could sign up and have it in both names, but he can sign when the closing documents are sent in about 10 days. They will have to be notorized.

You could contact your guide, and they could Fedex the papers to you in a matter of days. You both could sign at home prior to your visit and then you could hand carry the docs back with you and deliver them during your tour.

You would have to put a down payment down to initiate the paperwork, but that's a minor detail since you intend on paying in full next week anyway. Your deposit is fully refundable.

I could do this, but everything hinges on how much I like the rooms at BLT. If they don't appeal to me, then I'll probably go resale at BCV or BWV.
