Can I add a person to a room?

We are a family of 5 and I'm going to book through Costco for 4 nights at the Dolphin. To book through Costco, I need to add at least 1 ticket.

I am considering booking 1 night at the start of the trip at Animal Kingdom Villas, since we'll have a resort day. That will also get us the magic bands. If I book it as a package, I get the old rates on the tickets still, so it's cheaper than doing room only with the new ticket prices.

My question is, can I book the room for 5 of us and only get 4 tickets? Or can I book for 4 with tickets and then add another person to the room? Obviously, I'd want to be able to book FP all together at the 60 day point.

If it's a package no. Everyone in the room has to have the same tickets.

Or can I book for 4 with tickets and then add another person to the room?

If it's before you arrive, no. Same rules as above. However you can add the 5th person to the room when you arrive at AKL.

You can add a fifth person if the room has occupancy for five. What size villa did you get?

One bedroom that holds 5 people. We aren't trying to sneak an additional person in.

Even if not on room until you arrive, if they have a ticket on your MDE, you can book FP at 60 day.

You can add the 5th person when you arrive, however, if you are all flying into MCO together, that 5th person will not have access to DME if you were planning on using it. As PP's have said, as long as all 5 of you have valid ticket media linked in MDE, you will be able to book FP+ for all 5 of you 60 days prior to arrival even if only 4 of you are on the AKV reservation.

We are driving, so no problem for ME.

MDE is My Disney Experience, everything you do for tickets, FP+, reservations etc. [ME = bus from airport]

You buy the ticket, you load it on to MDE via it's confirmation number. Then make FP+ for them along with others.

Yes you can buy the MB in advance online or when you get there OR if you are starting at WDW, they will GIVE you a MB at the checkin when you add them.
