Can "Guests" (rented points) make room requests? (recomendations for BCV?)

I rented points to stay at BCV the last week in May and we're really excited about our first DVC experiance. Since I'm officially listed as a guest of the DVC member, do I have the right to make room requests? If so, how would I go about doing it. Is there a seperate number to call, do I have to go through the member, etc?

If I can make a room request at BCV are there any specific rooms or areas that you can recommend (or recommend to avoid)? We'll be in a studio and the only request I'd really like to make is to be as close as possible to Storm-a-long Bay. We have two young kids and the shorter walk we have, the better. We walked through SAB during our stay at the Swan in the fall, and DS(6) has talked way more about getting to swim in that pool than he has about going back to the theme parks.

Yes - you may make requests. They need to go on the reservation. You can either ask the owner to ad them for you or you can try calling MS (the number is on your confirmation letter) and see if the CM will do it for you. Sometimes they will take requests from members, but most additions/changes need to come from the owner.

Can't help with ideas other than to keep the request general - such as smoking or non-smoking, higher floor or lower floor, pool view, wooods view, etc.

Request exactly that ~ As close as possible to Stormalong Bay. That will give the room assignors a heads up that that's what you want. Limit your request to that and non-smoking and you give them more flexibility in finding a room than if you make a ton of requests.

The member should make requests for you with MS. Also, close to SAB does not really get you any closer to SAB since it is near BC and BCV. Any room at BCV could techically be called close to SAB or far from SAB.

We'll be there the same time as you - trying BCV for the first time instead of our usual BWV. Maybe we'll see you at SAB - our DS is also 6 years old.
