A couple years ago I watched a YouTube video of a couple who got banned from DL for cutting in lines. The lady said she bought an annual pass the following year (and had already gone multiple times)even though she was banned. How strict is Disney when they ban people? How would they really know if a "banned" person came back?

Can they really ban somebody for life?
Yes.

How would they really know if a banner person came back?
Facial recognition software.

When you've been trespassed off the property, if you show up again, you can be escorted off the property and handed over to the Anaheim police department. And this means not just Disneyland, but any of the 3 on site hotels and Downtown Disney, too.

They can certainly do it. I have generally heard though that after a while you can appeal your case and they may lift the ban. I'm sure that depends on the severity of the infraction, etc. I'm sure it's possible for a trespassed individual to enter the property using a different name on the ticket, but if caught, I doubt they'd be too happy about it.

I’m not surprised at all that banned people make it into the parks. But if you are caught, you will face criminal charges for trespassing. It’s a serious risk.

They can but also....whats funny is they have had a few Vloggers and Influencers over the year get bans and then...a few years later they are back

So if you have enough money or influence you won't be

Interesting part is why not ban from all parks instead of the one with the infraction? Life bans I believe somewhere around 5 years can try to get back in the good graces again.

Money

Companies only care about money and are fine with gambling that those banned at one park won't do the same thing at another and are willing to take the money

The fact that a lifetime ban can be lifted in 5 years, just screams. We don't care what you do as long as you pay us

I think anyone can appeal their ban. It's based on the infraction, not your status. If you wandered into a backstage area, that's maybe not as big of a deal as if you got into a drunken fist fight and hurt somebody.

I believe that they DO ban you from all Disney properties. I'm not sure I guess, but I think that's how it works.

Then it’s not lifetime…

I’m not sure if DL follows the same as WDW.

In Orlando all bans are technically lifetime bans. You must wait at least a year before making an appeal. Depending on the original infraction(s), and what the person has to say for themselves, WDW may eventually lift the ban.

There’s a case at WDW where the banned person pushed it as a news story - a Dad who very stupidly made a joke about having a meth lab back in his room, got banned, then tried to sue and went public with his violin, similar to the vlogger who trespassed into Grand Flo wedding pavilion and also filmed himself drinking out of different resort fountains, spitting it out and rating the tastes.

I don’t think Disney wants to hear, “I did something stupid but… it wasn’t that bad.” Disney can’t unban a person that still poses a chance at reckless behavior and being a security threat. WDW needs to be convinced otherwise.

A Social Media personality might have recently fulfilled a lifetime one for Universal Florida.

This a very insensitive comment.. Especially if you knew the entire story. And said ban was accepted without fight to protect an EMPLOYEE who invited him into those backstage areas. He could have very easily said John told me I could come back here. But instead he said nothing so the employee would not lose his job.

I'll just say as someone who films content

Unless an HR person reaches out to me, I'm not going anywhere with anyone

No talking ill of this person but I'd use it as a warning. Unless the official channels invite you, its trespassing

I didn't understand his comment so I googled to see what he was talking about. WOW. Super gross comment for sure!!

Right...but the comment made by Wedge was a flippant comment relating to the person's untimely death. Really gross, IMO.

This is correct, in WDW if you are banned, you are trespassed from ALL Disney property at WDW, not just one park or resort, it's everything. However it does not mean you are banned from Disneyland or other Disney locations outside of FL, they are separate.
