Can Disney gift cards be used in restaurants?

Can Disney gift cards bought online be used in the Disney restaurants? I was thinking about buying some a little at a time for our trip this summer. I wanted to try and spread out the finances a bit, and I thought if I could buy a gift card every two weeks or so, by the time we go they will have added up.
I just want to make sure we can you them.

I went to our local Disney Store and asked the same question. The manager there was very helpful and told me the gift cards will work any where at WDW. In fact they have a $1500.00 limit on them and you can add to them as many time as you like. Therefore my DD and I are placing money on separate cards to use when we go in August so we have to carry less cash on us. I hope this helps.

My daughters all had a disney gift card they used at WDW this past Aug. They used them at DTD in the Disney stores. My question is though.... are they good at all the restaraunts at DTD too? Are there any stores anyplace at WDW that the Disney Card can not be used at?

I am going again in May this year and want to replenish one of the cards for me to use but want to make sure they are accepted EVERYPLACE at DTD especially. (like Ghiardelli, Reglan Road, Bongos, House of Blues etc..... you know-- all of the NOT Disney named franchise stores and restaraunts)
