I've read where people have left (unopened) bottles for their room host, but had to write out a note saying they were doing so, so the CM wouldn't get into trouble. I wouldn't leave partially used bottles, however.
The problem I find with this is - maybe your designated gift receiver doesn't drink?
We left a bottle to our server on our last cruise. She happily accept it, but she told us to just let our head server know that the bottle was a gift to her. I think the head servers need to sign something in order for her to keep the wine. But no problem at all
I'm pretty sure that with the form they can accept it, but I believe it is stored somewhere (like the crew bar area) for common use - i don't believe they are allowed to have it in their cabins.
