Can characters hold babies?

When my son was 2 weeks old, Cinderella, Snow White and Aurora all held him so we could take a picture.

I don't know what policy is for WDW but those characters costumes are not like Mickey where your entire head and face are covered and not to mention the big gloves on his hands.

They are not supposed to. Some face characters might, but the costumed guys such as mickey will not. He cant really see your little one too well, so it is too much of a risk of dropping. He will sit on the floor and hold your little one in his lap though. That makes for a cute pic.

They can if they are sitting down. Our recent trip the Beast was standing for pics and one of my 22 month old twins was practically leaping out of my arms for Beast to hold him. So he went over and took a seat and patted his knee to have me sit him in his lap and he held him there for pics. The pics are so funny because his paw is so huge it covers almost his entire body and all you see is this little head sticking out above it.

I didn't think they could, but when we went in May, the Princesses all sat and held my 4 month old (and gave him kisses!) It was an amazing surprise and the pictures are priceless!

I would think it would be okay for the face characters too, but I'm not sure that it would be wise for the fully outfitted characters.

No. No characters are ever supposed to. No fur, no face, no one. Not even sitting on their lap or anything. Does that mean they won't? Not necessarily. Many characters will break the rules for an especially cute baby. Just please don't put Mickey (or anyone) in an awkward situation and ask/demand that he holds your child (even on his lap). If the child is old enough to sit up by herself, let the character know that you are placing her on the ground. The character will get down on the ground and can then decide if they want to "break the rules" and place the child on their lap or just cuddle up to the child and play.

Just think about what would happen if a kid's diaper overflowed onto Cinderella's lovely dress. It has happened, and that's why they aren't supposed to even have kids sit on their laps.

I have pictures of Alice, Pooh, Mickey, Minnie all holding my babies....so I would say that a lot of them do it...the non face characters are all sitting down.

Yes. Many will do it as long as no one important is "watching."

But still, please never ever ask for a character to hold your child. It puts them in a very awkward position because they're technically not supposed to but your baby just might be too cute! If they initiate, go for it. But never ask them.

Allowed? not sure, probably not...but it obviously happens. Someone posted that Pooh sat down somewhere and made a little dent in his fluffy tummy and put the baby in that and held it.

Thanks for the responses. I won't ask them to hold my DD 4 months, but maybe one of the princesses will want to. She has a cute Cinderella onesie for our CRT lunch that matches Cindy's dress.

none of the characters held my six-month-old on our last trip. that was fine. he did get some sweet attention from Tigger and Eyeore at Crystal Palace.

and he got a big, red kiss from a Tremaine stepsister, which lasted until i took it off the next morning. that kiss was SO much better than a kiss from any old princess. (we love the stepsisters.)
