Can canceled trip still work

So I we had a big family trip planned but a few months out my mother in law was diagnosed with cancer and obviously couldn’t go so we decided not to take the kids and canceled(3months before) our Disney reservation for and adults only at universal the same week. I got my deposit back and everything but I still got my magic bands and I just checked my account and it’s given me a room number and all my dinning meal credits. It looks like I could just go there now and use my tickets but I never paid for it. How is this possible. I have searched everywhere and hasn’t found this happened to anyone else

There is no way online to check your dining credits. What you may be seeing is reservations. If that is the case, you still need to cancel ALL your reservations, or you will be charged $10 per person for each meal.

Or if you still got Magic Bands, you absolutely need to call to make sure your vacation package was actually cancelled, I think. They gave you a room number? I assume it's for today? That is funky; I'd make sure you're not charged!

Yes you can. On the app. And if OP is seeing a room number they may well be using the app

Oh dear, I'd check then! Last time I had the dining plan I didn't know you could check credits on the app. That is a concern; if it's not cancelled then you will be charged.

The ability to see your dining credits is relatively new, last few months I think. It was rolled out shortly before they added the ability to use dining credits with mobile ordering.
