My Grandfather has a BlueGreen Properties timeshare that he doesn't use and has told me we can use it whenever/however we want. I tried this year to trade with RCI and stay on Disney property but nothing was available. Are BlueGreen and DVC interchangeable?

You would need to complete the exchange thru RCI. There are no direct trades between Blue Green and DVC unless you can negotiate an exchange directly with a DVC member.

Good luck! :)

As noted, one would have to do this through RCI but actually RCI weeks as BG is not a member of RCI points. That means you need to secure and deposit a property, unit and week strong enough to trade for DVC. There is a fair amount of 1 BR and studios for the first half of next year in RCI currently. You'd pay the exchange fee and extra $95 fee DVC charges for each exchange, so around $250 per exchange. The problem is getting a week and unit that has strong enough trade power to get DVC. If you'll email me privately with the number of points they have, whether their every year or EOY points, when the points renew and when/what you want at DVC, I can guide you further. We're currently in LV on 2 non DVC exchanges but I should have plenty of time to help you out. I'll also try to help you learn BG in general so you can take full advantage of those points. Also, remember that BG INCLUDES a paid membership with RCI. So even if he hasn't done anything with RCI, you can join for him. Just email me and we'll get you started.
