My Sis wants me to ask.
She is looking at doing an "intimate wedding" with just 4 of us. The website says they start at about $2500. Have any of you actually done a Disney wedding for under $3,000? Since its the weekend she can't call to get all the fine print. But she is really excited about the thought...but she is trying to keep the budget under $3000.
thanks !!! princess:

Hmmm... I would think that the $2500 might be for the add-on package, accommodations not included. I see on their website that they say packages start at $3,000. It's definitely possible to do a bare-bones package & save money, but you have to have an iron will! We actually ended up spending around $16,000 on our intimate wedding, including dress & tux, but not including rings. But we did a LOT of extras for our guests - we certainly don't regret any of the money spent on that trip :) Everyone had an amazing time.

Cheers!

I dread to think of how much we will end up spending, there are so many fantastic add ons you can have that you'd have to have a lot of WILL POWER to make sure you end up spending the bare minimal.

Still i think it is possible as long as she does nt get too carried a way with any extras! There are always ways a round things though in order to save money. Ie: if she would love pics on wedding day with characters but can't justify the hefty price why not have reception at Chef Mickeys that way she'd get to have characters in the wedding pics without parting with lots of $. For every fantastic idea that costs lots of $s there is always an alternative, she just needs to find ideas that ll work for her.

Best of luck to her, tell her to join the Dis club im sure every one will be able to give her the best advice possible

I saw in another post that you will be using DVC, so as long as you have that accounted for and there are no other additions over and above that, it's possible to just have the package for $2650 (2007 intimate package pricing).

I did a quick calculation today of our trip including our wedding and we will be over $10,000! But that includes a welcome dinner, reception, dessert party, as well as park tickets, plane tickets, and our honeymoon.

But those are all frills. If you do without, it can be done at the bare minimum.

HTH! :joker:

I am sure you will see lots of posts coming from my Sis...she needs to get her own sign-in. ;)

I think they are looking at trying to keep the actual wedding under $3000. It is going to be just them and me and my husband.
We all own DVC so rooms are taken care of and we are AP holders.
I don't think she is going to do any real extras. We are going to do dinner instead of a reception. (they are thinking V&A's...price I know) ;)
Since everything is with us and we are all casual...this won't be a formal affair, but a wonderful wedding at our favorite place on earth. :smooth:

thanks for the help so far.

hmp2z....so sorry about your doggies. (read on CB) :grouphug:

I did an intimate wedding and did as bare-bones as possible and it came out to $7,600, once I added photography and videography...and including my theme park tickets and 4 nights at the Polynesian. Plus, when you add all the little stuff you don't think about...dress, shoes, hair, make-up, dress steaming, jewelry, announcements, meals, tux, etc, etc, etc...the list goes on! My wedding easily came out to over $13,000 with everything...plus you have to think of all the stuff you buy after the wedding and that I still am...wedding photos, etc. Even trying to have the cheapest wedding...get expensive!

fairy tale bride.. do you mind me asking why a bare bones was so expensive? Is that including hotel rooms or anything like that?

I think I am WAY underestimating the costs!! :guilty:

Our intimate wedding at the wedding pavillion is coming to a touch over $17,000.

HOWEVER, this includes the following:

Our honeymoon at Old Key West resort
Park tickets
Dining
a lunch after the ceremony
a rehearsal dinner
a farewell breakfast
His tux
My dress
dress steaming
Makeup and hair
Cinderella's glass coach
Shoes
Veil
Tiara
photography
videograpy
officiant
Wedding invitations
Annoucements
newsletters
extra floral (MOH bouquet and unity candle arrangement)
extra beverages for guests
Welcome bags for all guests
and all other small accessories

Yes, you can do it pretty inexpensive. Our Intimate wedding - JUST the ceremony itself - was around $2700. That included extra floral, custom cake, extra beverage (cider) at cake cutting, and chocolate favors. But last year the wedding included the officiant, so that's another about $150 your sister will have to add.

But, as others have stated, once we tacked on my gown and accessories, DH's suit, wedding bands (not counting my e-ring!), MOH's dress and accessories, hair, day-after brunch, the room nights, food, souveniers, (we have APs so we didn't need to worry about park admission), our extended honeymoon cruise, gown preservation (I just got the box and did it myself), announcements and postage (we got lucky and got invites for free but made 75 announcements), etc. etc. the whole thing was about $10k . . . and worth EVERY penny!!

Yes, I wrote in the post that it included the 4-night stay at the Resort and theme park tickets...Plus, the videography and photography. :)

sorry, I thought the things listed were additional costs on top of your intimate wedding! I feel much better!!

We are planning a March wedding, and we are keeping the basic package and adding a photography session. We are looking at about $3200.00. Tell your sis that the location can make a difference too. The wedding pavillion at Grand Floridian usually runs about $1000.00 more than the other locations. But for GOOD reason. It is gorgeous and there is an amazing view of the castle over the lagoon. She can probably go very basic and pay right around $3000.00 for the wedding ONLY.

DH and I had the basic Intimate package at Sea Breeze Point with no guests. No add ons (okay, one extra bottle of Cuvee for our anniversary, $65 I think), no special/outside photo package (we did pre-order the proofs...this is a MUST DO!! Add about $225).

At the time the package was different because it included your room charges and tickets and officiant.

I did not wear a gown, just a regular summer dress (very casual). DH wore a nice linen shirt and navy dockers. I did my hair and make up.

Our total including air fare, rings (and getting my engagement ring re-set), favors (I had to have custom m&m's:) ), souvenirs during our stay, kenneling our three dogs...EVERYTHING and our intimate wedding was around $6000.

My guess is, considering you have DVC and AP's, and if you pretty much go with the intimate package as described (at any of the locations NOT the WP), you can do it for $3000...easily.

Good Luck!
