I need a vacuum for my Pergo floors. I used to have a Dirt Devil canister vacuum years ago that I liked to use, but it died. THEN I had a Oreck that also died. I have been swiffering them ever since, but my dogs are shedding so bad ...my floors are starting to look like a western town with tumble weeds. :rotfl2: I am sooooooooo tired of swiffering all the time. I don't want a floor vac. that will scratch them but I do need something. I have an upright Oreck, but you can't get into all of the places with that. THANKS :goodvibes

I have a miele gemini. It came with a hard floor attachment and works great. Our entire first floor is hardwoods and some tile. It's very pricey [double a DYSON yikes] but worth it IMHO.

I have to say I use a rubber broom daily and my Miele weekly. The broom is a Euro-Shine and it works great. Mine does not have telescoping wand. My MIL bought it years ago. I love it!
