Can Anyone Visit A Resort?

Hi. We're heading to WDW in a few weeks. We're staying offsite for this trip, but I wouldn't mind checking out some of the resorts for future stays (without sitting through a timeshare presentation) or at least visiting some of the restaurants. Can we just drive up to a resort and check it out, or is something needed to get in? If we just want to go a restaurant, can we drive up, or do we need reservations to be allowed in? Thanks for any advice.

Most definitely!

We call it "Resort hopping." You can definitely visit other resorts restaurants! I have a whole day planned just for exploring! When you drive up, the guard station may ask if you are staying at that resort, just tell them you are eating there or you are visiting. No problem! You don't need a PS (priority seating-reservations) to do this, however, it is a good idea to have a PS for most restaurants as they can fill up.

I think at the monorail resorts you will need a PS to be able to park there, either that or use valet parking.

We visit most the resorts every trip, and either have a snack there or dinner. :):D:)

One of the easiest ways to go resort hopping is to eat lunch at a nearby resort on your park days. When at the MK, hop on the monorail and eat at CR, Poly, or GF, then ride the monorail to the other resorts on the loop that you want to see. You can also catch a boat to WL or FW.

On your Epcot and MGM days, it's easy to visit S/D, BWI, and YC/BC. You can walk from either park, but we enjoy the boat ride from MGM since the walk is a little longer.

You can visit any of the other resorts by bus from any of the parks. Sometimes we make a list of about 3 resorts that we want to eat at and look at, and then we get on the bus for which ever one comes first.

Yes. You can visit all of the resorts. Just try to make PS's for most of the restaurant's as they can get busy and fill up. You would have a long wait without a PS.
