$4020 for mid may 2005 for 2 adults and 2 children (10&5), staying for 9 nights in the Beach Club Resort in WDW and then 5 nights in Hard Rock Hotel, flying with Virgin including transfers and free holiday insurance? V

The quote is from Virgin Travel Shop. VH quoted me £200 extra without holiday insurance.

Cheers

Hi,

I'm not very good on prices,I hope someone else can help??

Martina - do you mean $4020 or £4020?

As the quote is from Virgin Travelstore, I assume it's a typo and you mean £4020 which doesn't sound like a real bargain, but for that standard of accommodation doesn't sound too bad.

Does the price include any theme park admission? If you also have park tickets in the price, it's not bad at all IMHO.

Will you be renting a car and is the rental and / or insurance included? If it is, then that's another factor in favour of the quote.

If it really is $4020, I'd snap it up before they change their minds! ;)

Hilary, sorry the dollar sign was a typo, I do mean £4020 sterling. No the quote doesn't include park tickets or car hire/ins. However we don't plan on renting a car as hubby insists he is not driving and I'm not confident enough to and staying on-site on both places means we don't have to (I hope!).

I'm having a really hard time trying to get a cheaper quote as we want to specifically stay in these two hotels (5*) and also specifically want to fly with Virgin into MCO.

aaww well back to the drawing board.... I just want to get booked as soon as possible.

Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it.

Martina,

Have you looked at DIY? You won't be able to get prices for Virgin flights for another month or so as scheduled flights can only be booked 333 days out. You could get quotes for a Virgin Fly-Drive, though, as it's classed as a holiday package. I know you don't intend to use a car, but we've sometimes found that the prices for fly-drives are cheaper than flights alone. Our July trip, booked through Virgin Travelstore, is a case in point.

Next consider buying Annual Passes for both Disney and Universal as there are worthwhile discounts to be had on accommodation. Only one member of your party needs to be an Annual Passholder and you don't need the passes when you book, just when you check in. The downside to this is that the discounted rates are usually only released a few months ahead. You can book the rooms, though, and switch to the AP rates once they are available. I understand that if you use Dreams Unlimited, they will keep checking for you. Also take a look at www.mousesavers.com for details of AP and other discounts.

Hi, yes I looked at DIY. Booking independenty with Virgin through expedia (with a March price) was £1336 for the four of us and then £750 for HRH stay and £2124 for the nine nights at BC through disneyworld.co.uk (£236p/n) .... so DIY it would be £4210 which makes the package £200 cheaper.

I think I'm going to book the package ...... I want to get things booked up soon so that I can get the hotels I want.

Thanks for your advice. :)

Martina

oops... p.s. Flydrive prices were quite expensive when I priced with Virgin Holidays... something like £549.00 per adult and £329 per child.
