Planning a girls shopping trip to NYC next month and would like some recommendations of reasonable ($400ish range) and nice hotels. We really aren't to picky about area altho Time Square was mentioned. We are thinking we might shop SoHo area so that is a possiblity too. Any recommendations would be appreciated. THANKS!

I'm not sure personally cause I live close so never a need for a hotel, but I know a lot of people have asked this question recently. I would try doing a search for thread titles with "NYC & Hotel" in them, you might get some good answers that way. Have a great trip! Make sure to eat pizza and get a bagel while you're here.

I'm no real help, but will put my .02 to avoid the Hotel Edison. It's a great location by Times Square but we were having flashbacks to The Shining when there in July. They do, however, have a great little bar called The Rum Room.

Have fun!

Distrikt Hotel near port authority and times square is AWESOME. Reasonable (for NYC) slick and hip and great service and large rooms/bathrooms for NYC. My favorite place to stay there when I can't stay at The London (which is the best hotel IMO).

Good luck and have fun shopping!:thumbsup2

The Belvedere on 47th (or thereabout) was very nice and a great deal; however, that was 8 years ago, so I have no recent review. It had been recently renovated at the time, a great location, and a refrigerator and microwave in the room. I believe we paid somewhere around $170 a night, but I am sure that has gone up. ;) But check it out!

There is a Courtyard on 40th and 6th. It is close to Times Square and the subway is a block away.

I have been there a few times recently and it's still good. It's at 48th and 8th. Hope to get back in a few weeks.

The Intercontinental Times Square was great. Good location (44th and 8th), good service, and a brand new hotel. We enjoyed it.

OMG I sooo miss NYC bagels. It's definitey the water that makes NYC pizza and Bagels THE BEST!!!!

The Marriott Marquis in Time Square.

I was looking at that one. Last time I was in NYC I still lived in NJ so I didn't really need to stay.

Thanks for the replies everyone. :thumbsup2
