Hi, I want to get a new digital camera before my next disney trip. Can anyone recommend a good one. I am looking for great pics, pretty easy to use and a reasonable price(nothing in the 400up range, please).
Thanks!

:dance3: I just have to add these guys! I love 'em!

I recently bought a Panasonic Lumix. So far I'm liking it. I found it pretty easy to set up and take pictures. It's got a bunch of good options and takes good quality pics.
I've also heard good things about Canon Power Shots.

If you don't want to spend $400, then I would recommend the Canon s2-IS. It's a great camera, and can be found under $350. (comparison shop at www.pricegrabber.com but check your merchant carefully)

You should go into a local shop and hold/handle any of the cameras you are considering. Sometimes a good camera just won't fit your hand right, but you won't know until you hold it. :)

For more info/opinions, you can always come over to the Photography Board. http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=97

I have a Nikon CoolPix 5.2. It's a couple years old, I think, and I don't remember what it cost.

What I like about it is that even though there are a million things it can do, I didn't have to learn anything to use it. It also works for dummies who like to point and shoot, the old-fashioned way.

DH and the kids do a bunch of things with it, but I can use it, too! :)

That's a good idea. I will be heading to Best Buy and Circuity City to 'try on' some cameras! :thumbsup2
I never knew there was a Photography board! (I never scrolled down the page that far! LOL) :rotfl: :rotfl:

I recently bought the Olympus Stylus 800 on the internet for less than $250. I chose this particular camera because it is weatherproof. I was happy with the pix from the Kodak except that I couldn't take pictures in the rain, around water or areas that are splash zones. This camera can get wet, it just can't be submerged. If that is an issue for you with quick rain storm in WDW, Splash Mountain, water parks, etc, consider the Stylus. Pentax makes a submersible camera up to 8 ft for 30 minutes but the reviews are just so so.

I have the pentax optio. I have used it in the pool, at disney and at the beach. Its great for that. Inside not so great. It is a 4 MP I think. That is the reason why I am looking for another camera. I went to a wedding and thank goodness the ceremony was outside! My DD was the flower girl and I have great pics of her during the ceremony, but hardly anything good from the reception. It also doesn't handle fast action shots so well.
I actually just found the photography boards(amazing how much time I have spent on the disboards and never saw them) and I actually found pics taken with a canon powershot a620. I started reading reviews on that and I think I will check my local stores to see it in person.

I'm with Terry on this one! I just bought my Canon S2-IS a few months ago and LOVE it!

I also just bought a Canon S2 IS and love it. It is a little larger than the little, flat digital cameras but you need the size in order to get more zoom (this one has 12x zoom). If you want a smaller camera, I bought my daughter a Canon SD450. It doesn't have as much zoom capability but she likes the smaller size. My buying decisons were not that scientific. I just noticed that every time I admired a good photo, they seemed to have been taken with a Canon.
