Can anyone please help me work this out?

I have checked my Saratoga points statement and have 170 points left. I should have had more. But looking at the statement below, instead of using 38 points I already had to make a reservation in January 2006, the reservationist has borrowed 80 points from my 2007 use year, then banked the 38 points I already had into the next use year!

And those points have now expired because I was not aware that she had done this.

Is there anything I can do to have this corrected? Or have I just lost 38 points through no fault of my own?

Now, there is no way I personally would have borrowed 80 points when I already had 38

You should not be able to borrow when you have points available from the current year. You should call them and explain it and they will adjust it.

In the future, remember to ask for a status of your account before you hang up. Do this after each call or transaction.

I do this myself to prevent problems like you mentioned. It's a lot easier to fix when it happens, than it is after the fact.

There are times when they should, but don't always, use banked and borrowed points first. You should always direct them in this area and go over your points to make sure they have it correct. But there are times when they will not use banked/borrowed points. I think the most confusion issue in this area for newbies is the idea that they use a specific point to make a reservation. Say you make a reservation then later bank points, not only will they not automatically use those banked points in an existing reservation, in some cases, they won't do so at all even if you ask. Hopefully you can get this worked out but don't be surprised if you can't at this date.
