Can anyone help me with the Magical Moments Games

I have been reading some great posts about the Magical Moments Game and the Magical Moments Trivia Game. The only place to purchase (other than the parks) was Gifts of a Lifetime - but at a much higher cost than the parks. Does anyone know of any other place to purchase these prior to our trip? Also are they the kind of things my kids can share (i.e. with one of each MAYBE, just maybe they can take turns with each game) or is it better if they each have one? Also is one better for older kids and one better for younger?

I bought one from Disney ahead of time, but it cost a bunch since I wanted it fast. It really helps for each kid to have their own instead of trying to share. Plus it's really neat when the game shows up when you pass by the attraction. Keeps the kids occupied in lines.

I don't think this is what you're looking for, but the Disney resorts also carry them, and no doubt you could find one at Downtown Disney. Do you know anyone headed to Disney in the near future? As long as you provided them with an exact description, the games are available all over the place, so they should be able to pick up a couple with little trouble. My kids enjoyed the magical moments game (not the trivia one) at 6 & 9 last year. I needed them to have two games so I would return with my sanity intact.

Where did you get them from Disney prior to the trip? I tried the Disney store,but no luck. Also you mentioned that getting them from Disney prior, cost more? Was there anything the kids could play prior to the trip that would make it worth my while to try and locate the games or should I just wait and get them when we arrive? I am thinking now of doing this, if they can only be played at WDW.

From what I understand these games are about the size of a gameboy. They are interactive throughout the park. In other words, when you are near Cinderella's Castle, either trivia or a game involving Cinderella come up on the screen. Apparently there are triggering sites near the rides and attractions. These seem to be great for waiting time in lines.

If anyone has had one and can explain it better, I would sure appreciate it. I will try to find a thread to link for better info.

there are only 1 or maybe 2 games active when you first get the machine. As you walk around the park you get new games as you pass each ride.
There are instructions included which will activate all the games, in case you miss some, or the batterys go flat, but it would kind of defeat the object of picking up new games as you wander the parks if you activated them all before you got there.

Personally, I would wait until you get there.

I got mine through Disney Merchandise Mail order - 19.99 plus shipping, mainly because it was to be given as a birthday gift before WDW trip. You can unlock everything if you miss a park/dead batteries... I think up,down,up,down?

I was thinking of waiting too. Yet I considered that

1. It is one less thing to remember when we get there
2. It is deferring some costs to now and not then
3. It would be something fun to get a feel for prior to getting there.
