Can anyone help-- computer issues???

I have a computer issue. Everything is a much larger size than it was last wk. Also some stuff is much smaller.

I let DS11 on the desktop to play Battlefront 2 on Sunday. He played and shut off the computer. A little while later he realized he left the disc in the drive. he started up the computer, removed the disc and shut down the computer again. I got on the computer later (after he went to sleep) and everything is all screwed up. I get the Disney widgets-- they are about 3x's the size they should be. My desktop Icons are all in the wrong order - that I tried to reorganize w/o much luck. I have comcast for email. When I logged into my account it gave me comcastlite vs reg comcast. All of my email were huge - I couldn't read the full line- it was at 100% so I resized it to 80% but it still doesn't seem right.

When I am on Windows internet explorer it seems like the top w/ all the toolbars are too big. My task bar on the bottom is also larger than it usually it. It is driving me nuts. I know it has to be the desktop bc the laptop is just fine and dandy.

I tried clicking on everything to see if I can get it resized but haven't had much luck . Dh and I are not very computer problem savy.

I'm not sure if this is the issue, but your settings could have been changed. I'd try going to the control panel and opening up the display icon. On the top you'll see a settings tab. If you click on that you can change your screen resolution. Its worth a try as you can cancel the changes very easily.

if its just the font size then do this.

1. I am assuming your mouse has one of those scrolling wheels on it.
2. Press the ctrl key on your keyboard and then scroll the mouse wheel down. The size of the font should change. Keep scrolling up pr down until its the way you want.

sounds like his game changed the screen resolution.

You need to go to display settings and try the different resolutions that are listed as options until you find one that looks right.

If that doesn't remedy your problem for some reason:

1) do a full shut down. (not a reset... like make sure it's actually off, wait a few seconds, and then push the power button to turn it off again). Let it boot up and see if that "magically" fixes the problem. YOu'd be amazed at how many problems this fixes, lol.

2) if that doesn't work, there may be a driver issue. YOu'll have to uninstall your driver, download the newest one for your video card, then install.

It was the resolution. I was in that display box before but didn't know what resolution was!

I am soo much happier now with a normal looking screen and tool/task bars too!!
