Hi
I have been reading with great interest all the information about the FOL perk if you stay at the Universal Resort hotels. As we are going for 3 weeks in July/August with 2 teenagers if we stayed for 1 or 2 nights it would be a brilliant way for them to get the best out of their favourite parks and also for me and the DH to enjoy a bit of time to ourselves.

Can anyone give me ant idea how much say the HRH would cost per night and also the best place to book?

Thanks, I cant wait, IH here I come!!!!!!!!!

Hotel Kingdom keeps popping up as giving a good deal, also try asking on the Universal discussions page.

If u get the fan club card u will get a discounted rate as well if available :jester:

We recently stayed at the Royal Pacific - it was EXCELLENT and the FOTL is brilliant. By passing the 50+ minutes queues was great!

Our teenage daughters absolutely love the freedom of staying onsite at USF. (So do we - hardly see them! ;) ). I would recommend two nights. When we stayed for one, we didn't really feel we were there long enough to feel part of it all. Although you can pick up your FOTL card first thing in the morning (the day you check in), and it's valid the whole day you check out, we've never managed to get access to our room before around 5.30pm and then check out is 11am the following morning. Staying for 2 nights is far better, IMHO. We also book a separate room for the girls, so it's not cheap.

We've booked for 2 nights in July at PBH for $188 at the Annual Passholder rate. I was also offered HRH and RPR. I can't remember the rates for those, but they were lower. Only one of your party needs to be an AP holder and you don't need to be one when you book; just when you check in.

We're going to be at Universal for 2 nights, 1st and 2nd August! We'll be with our 15 year old daughter who will be missing her older brother and sister like mad - they can't come this time.

We're staying at the Royal Pacific and our rate is $164 a night booked on the Loews website using the FAN code. You need a Fan Club card to show when you get there and I've just received mine courtesy of a wonderful lady in the USA called Barb (Tinkerbarb on these boards) I sent her a SAE and $1 for postage! You can find out all about this on the Fan Club thread on the Universal Resort board - there are discounts with Fan Club at the HRH and the PBH too , or at least there were a few weeks ago, I haven't looked lately! Hope you find a discounted rate!

We are so looking forward to the FOTL privilege.

Whoops, sorry! The Fan Club thread is on the general Universal theme park discussion forum, not the resorts one!

We stayed at the Royal Pacific last November and got a $110 rate with the Entertainment Card (now available for $15 - there's another thread about this).

All you do is:

1. Buy an Entertainment Book - and get your card
2. Ring the booking line for the hotel and ask for the "Entertainment Rate" - if you're happy with the rate then you get a confirmation number.

(You could always ring and ask what the Entertainment Rate is before committing to the cost of the book as well of course.)

They tell you on the phone to make sure that you have your card when you check in but, in fact, didn't ask to see ours.

It's also worth joining Loews First (see their website) as you get a free room upgrade (e.g. a water view room at a normal rate) on check in if there is one available, and a free extra (such as a bottle of wine, or some fruit) in your room as well. I know not spectacular but completely free.

I can't recommend the hotel highly enough. We loved our stay here. Lovely room (overlooking the pool with our upgrade), good pool and, joy of joys, a 3 minute walk (or shorter boat ride) to the Universal complex. We went to the parks in the day, back to the hotel for a swim and then to City Walk for something to eat and we went to the cinema as well. So much more relaxed as there was no driving (and I could have a beer as well).

All this plus FOTL priveleges.
