Can anyone else relate to this?

So my DH does not share my passion for WDW - although he has willingly gone on 2 family trips. In my obsession, I have taken my daughter there 2 times in addition to those trips - and am currently planning another one...

So he tells us: "Seriously, you guys have been there every year - this has to slow down after this..."

DD9 responds: "No, Dad, not every year - we missed 2005..."

Yaah, my DH likes WDW but if he doesn't go again for several years, I don't think he'd care. I told him I would start taking trips with just my teenaged DD and my DGD and he and my other teenaged DD can stay home.

I divorced him......

My ex-husband once told me "this is too crowded, I'm never coming back", I told him he wouldn't have to worry about it. I divorced him in July 1991. I am happy to report that I will be making my 47th trip in October with my second husband, he was already a Disney Vacation Club member when I married him and he was willing to get married at Sunset Pointe, so I'll keep this one!

I'm afraid we can't relate, our family LOVES Disney. I'm like flippin' Clarke W. Griswald when it comes to WDW!

My dh is the same way, "dont you want to try to go somewhere new?" No the boys and I love WDW. We finally found something Disney he likes though, the cruise line. It is finally the relaxing vactation to different places he wants to go, with all the Disney fan fare that I need!

I can relate... Our family of 3 all had passes but when they expired DH said he didn't want his anymore soooo I renewed mine and DS. So, off the 2 of went making wonderful memories without DH.

One month later, DH says "I want to go. Why didn't you get my pass?" I think secretly he likes the place but just likes to complain. His current reasoning for going is that he doesn't want our DS5 to have memories of WDW without him.

Plus, he made me a Mickey Lamp post the other day for our upcoming FW trip(without my asking).

He may be swaying to the Disney side. I think the pixie dust may be working afterall.

DH went on two trips with us. When I mentioned a third, he said no, he had no interest. So I told him I was going to book another for myself and DD. He said, sure, okay, but never really thought I would do it, as this isn't something I would ever do. He was quite shocked when I gave him the dates of our upcoming trip. Until he dropped us off at the airport, I really think he thought I wouldn't do it. I'm happy to report that DD and I have been on two trips since then (including our trip in 17 days), with my mom along. We've now turned her into a Disney nut! It's okay that it's not DH's "thing", but that doesn't mean it's not our "thing".

My DH is not a big Disney fan. My ILs took him every year when he was growing up. Since he didnt really like it to begin with, that really kinda ruined it for him!!

So, we agreed that we would go every other year!! Little does he now, the opposite years, we will be going to DisneyLand!!! BWHAAAAAAAA!!!

I can totally relate also I usually have to lay the guilt trip on him about how much your two kids LOVE Disney! He also said that it's not going to hurt his feelings if he doesn't go to Disney for another 5 years or more, but when I mentioned another trip next year I didn't have to do as much convincing ! Then a couple of Saturday's ago DD ran up to me and told me that Daddy made a Mickey shape in the grass using his riding lawn mower ! Boy did I give him a hard time and really teased him about his "Hidden Mickey" artwork!

I can totally relate. My DH went on two trips with us and has said no more for him. We have been once without him and are going in Sept without him again. He just rolls his eyes when I bring up Disney. I think he is slowly getting used to us going though. I am hoping to get him to go for a few days in Jan 2011 to celebrate my grad school graduation with my whole family.

I can so relate to this. My husband likes Disney when we are not there. He can sit and look at pictures with me for hours but he's different when we are there. He gets burnt out after a day or two. He did go 3 years in a row to feed my obsession but I had to compromise on our last vacation. We went to Universal.

But I did talk him into taking a DCL cruise next year.

And he would never stay home while I took the kids. Even though he doesn't like it very much, he would be too afraid of missing out on something.

This is my story.

DH has been to Disney world just him and I 20 years ago before we had children.
DS came along we bought him to Disney when he was 8. He is now 18. DD came along Husband and I bought her when she was 5.

She is such a huge Disney freak we have been back every year solo (just her and I)for 4 years straight.My husband has NO PROBLEM footing the bill to get rid of us every year.

Gee whiz, I better watch out. I'm a Disney World lover, even moreso than my wife, but I've been complaining about the crowds non stop recently...

Have the same problem. Now it's even coming from youngest DD! WHY DO YOU ALWAYS WANT TO GO BACK TO WDW? My answer ... because I KNOW I'll have a fabulous time; I KNOW where I like to stay, where I like to eat, what I like to do; I KNOW the Orlando Airport; I KNOW where EVERYTHING is at WDW ... and, I just feel like I'm "home"! While I love DH dearly, after 38 years of marriage/vacations (25 of those vacations "with children"), I'm just plain tired of trying "other places". Especially after listening to the complaining . Why did you pick this week to go? Why did you pick this hotel? Why did you make dinner reservations HERE?; "I can't read the map and drive at the same time" Why is this hotels swimming pool so little? I DON'T WANT to go THERE! Ya get my drift? So now I make plans for WDW ... if someone wants to come with me; OK. If not, I'm on my own! Will be joining oldest DD and her family in a couple of weeks; DH and youngest DD will be going to DC in October. We're ALL excited about our vacations ... and, no one is complaining!!!

I know what you mean
My whole family is "tired" of disney. I will be going solo in Oct and then working on friends for a trip and then working on my SIL's for another trip. If my kids school schedule allows it, they are welcome to join me . My Dh says he is not interested in going. Our last family trip, my DD and DH spent most of the time in the room on the computer . No one got upset, we just each did our own thing.

I am looking forward to having the "me" time to enjoy WDW. Not having to worry about anyone but myself. I am so comfortable at WDW, I don't need maps and I know where to go and how to get there and I will be safe getting there.

I can relate...I'd been by myself, but took my kids for the first time this past February. It was the most magical experience! I want to do that every single year!! My husband says, "Disney is a special event you do once in a lifetime."
I have a lot of convincing to do...

In a few days I'm visiting for the third time on my AP - from Seattle! One solo, one with BFF, and one with SO. Seriously, I have to rotate family and friends to have company on my trips, and even then I still have to go solo once in a while.! In the next year I'll take my 5 year old nephew for his first trip (his Mom and Dad will come along, too) and a trip with my BFF. Yes, I totally understand!
