Or comment on your stay at either one? I'd love to hear all about it and know what we could expect.

Thanks!

Here's my 2 cents! We did Poly concierge last year 9 nights - AKL concierge this year 4 nights. I picked AKL this year after hearing terrific reviews and wanting to check it out and a few not as good for the Poly. My vote - both offer great service, the perks (the food, water, soda) the planning assistance all make concierge worth the price in my opinion - but not question for me the Poly was exceptional. The Poly CM's were terrific - friendly, outgoing, helpful and fun. AKL helpful and efficient. The food - I have kids - the poly offerings were superior. Great selection, although if you did not get there early in the evening they did run out of the main item - but there was always alot of other great items and there was always something out. AKL small selection - but unusually food items (not so good with kids!) - example a bowl of strawberries with 6 in the bowl. Now they did refill when empty and would get more it you asked for them. had to do alot of asking for stuff, soda, milk, cookies - that gets old. One morning we got to the lounge 10 minutes after they were serving breakfast. I asked for a couple boxes of cereal for the kids and was told breakfast was over - ok!!! Also the evening offerings I think were done at 10 and at 9:50 everything was being put away. Also for us the AKL lounge was a hike from our room - the Poly lounge was very convenient. Bottom line its not that I thought that AkL was bad - its that for us the Poly was so great. From the CM's to the lounge staff to the bell staff to the housekeeping staff - its back to the Poly for us. Sorry this is long hope it helps!!

Can you see the MK fireworks from the concierge lounge at the Poly?

(I was thinking of getting a garden view room and would like to know if this would be an alternative to watching from beach.)

These are my two favorites. We have done GV at the Polynesian 4 times. We only stayed at the AKL one night, but that one night blew us away. The planning staff at the AKL called me as soon as I made the reservations. The Polynesian mailed me a planner. Now whenever we stay at the Polynesian I always just email my requests. You can't beat the view from the Polynesian. Yes you can watch the fireworks from the lounge, they even pipe in the music:D . They both have big screen TV's in the lounge. It is easier to get to the lounge at the Polynesian. The Hawaii bldg is in a great location, next to the beach, the pool, the dock and very close to the GCH. When we stayed at the AKL I told them I would like a room that would be convenient to get to the pool and the lounge. We had a great room on the Zebra Trail. I think the CM's were great at both resorts. There is much more food offerings through out the day at the AKL and they are a little fresher IMO. They have an awesome espresso maker, the bagels didn't look like they came out of a bag and the pastries were fresh. You get more variety with the evening selection at the AKL. They both had a couple of choices for the kids. I prefer the wine and the desserts at the AKL. Overall I liked the food better at the AKL, but I was only there one night. The rooms are larger at the Polynesian, but I prefer the decorations at the AKL. When we go on our main trip in the summer we always want to do a spilt between the two starting out at the Polynesian:cool: I just don't know what we're going to do this summer since the Hawaii bldg will be down:confused: I don't want to stay in Tahiti:( I'll get another AKL fix here in Januray:cool: Any other questions let me know:D
