can an 11 yr old eat off child's menu

MY 11 year old is pretty picky & she usually likes the food on the child's menu. Will they let her order off of that, & maybe just pay extra or something?

They will let anyone order the children's meals at any counter or full service. Note that at buffets this does not apply.

At a few full-service restaurants, the child's menu is for children under 9 only, and they sometimes charge an adult price to older folks ordering those items. Check the archives for reports of some of the cases of this. However, do keep in mind that it is only a few restaurants, and happens infrequently, so it might be worth the risk for you.

This did not happen at all on our trip last month. My 12 year old ordered off the kid's menu everywhere we went (all TS restaurants) and we never got charged anything other than the regular kid's menu price.

If you're using a TS on the DDP and your "adult" child likes the selection from the child's menu better, you might try asking them to bring out that food item in an adult portion. They'll probably do it since mac & cheese, chicken fingers, etc. are cheaper than the adult menu choices. At least that way you'd get the full-size serving that you're paying for anyway.

Are you going very soon. DVC is doing the dinning plan now. I know we signed up for it in May, but not sure when it starts for DVC.

Anyway as others side you should be fine ordering kids meals for an 11 year old. My DN ordered a few at some resturants and she was 13. Most places she wanted adult meals more (She isn't so big into kids food.) However she doesn't eat enough of an adult meal to make it worth the $. She often would get soup and salad at sit down places and that worked for her.

When we went in July - my DD was 11 and pretty much ordered off the kid's menu everywhere. As a matter of fact for dessert at Yachtsman's Steakhouse we *all* ordered a dessert off the kid's menu. We were on the Premium plan though so we did pay an adult price for her, she had the option. Sometimes she would order the meal off the kids menu & dessert off the adult.

I don't think they would have had a problem with it even not being on the plan though as it didn't even phase them when she ordered off the kids menu.

Yes, me too on that. We are trying the dining plan for the 1st time in 5 weeks. We will only be there for 3 nights so we thought it would be a good time to try it out.
