reservation without buying a 1 day base ticket for the AP dates thru 5/21.

i was able to get a quote w/the deluxe dining plan and no tickets... and not an ap holder...

Check In: June 01, 2008
Check Out: June 06, 2008
Staying for: 5 nights, 6 days

Adults: 2
Children: 0

Room Type: Preferred Room
Tickets: None
Package: Deluxe Dining

This doesn't surprise me at all. It is no longer a loss leader that needs to have the other items tied to it to make it profitable. Without the tip and appetizer DDP is a break even over OOP in most cases and DXDDP though more bang for the buck with the appetizer included and the ability to eat 3 TS per day is far from a bargain especially once tips are added. The projected sales may be off from what they had projected and letting others "buy into it" with AP's and room only may help to bring sales in line with expectations.

I just called to see if I could add dining to a room only reservation. The CM said the only way I could add dining was to switch room only to a package and buy tickets.

I'm a TA and after reading this thread I logged on to the TA site and was able to price packages w/dining and no tickets. :confused3

It would be nice if they would give us a heads-up. :headache:

We have reservations at Saratoga Springs in a couple of weeks (we traded in and are not DVC owners) without buying park tickets (we bought them elsewhere) we have registered for the Deluxe Dining Plan. We have talked to the Disney folks numerous times making reservations for our trip on the DDP and no one has questioned us.

DVC locations never had to buy tickets to get the dining plan, so that may be why you had no problems. But I do think this is an interesting shift.

How are people able to add dining to room only ressies? I called last night and couldn't do it. I tired online with no luck. Is this only for AP holders? If not, where on the Disney website can dining be added without purchasing tickets?

If this is a recent change, you just need to call back & speak with a more informed CM.

We just booked for May with room only and DxDDP (we have aps). I can not wait cause this will be our first time with the DDP.

Does anyone know if this will effect the SoG'ers being able to get on the dining plan now if they are booked into a resort on overflow????

anyone had any sucess with adding dining to a room only booked under bounceback

I read on another thread that it was just for AP holders.

On the resort board, there is a post saying the offer is for AP holders only. It says if others somehow book it, they will be expected to show an AP on arrival.

Hmmmm, now to decide what ticket option to pursue. think, think, think

I booked this offer online using the passholders site. AP Discounted room rates and the ability to add dining plan. Not the best deal ever, but I'll take it for a short trip in May.

As far as I know, this is only for AP holders.
