Can a single day ticket be upgraded to Discovery 3-Day ticket?

My friend is going to Disney for just one day and bought a single day ticket. She didn't know about the Florida Resident Discover Ticket that's 3-days. Would it be possible for her to call and upgrade her ticket to the 3-day ticket instead? Her ticket cost $130 and the 3-day ticket is only $175. Her single day ticket hasn't been used yet.
