Hi. I currently do not own but after renting for the 3rd time I am seriously considering it. My question though is I really want at WLV and was wondering if I can be put on a waitlist for a new contract and finance through Disney or are waitlists only for those who already own?

I do realize that there are resales through other places but it also sounds like Disney is exercising ROFR more now.

Yes, you should contact your guide (or just call the sales office at 1-800-800-9100 and they'll put you in contact with one) and have them put you on the wait list for VWL.

The cost is $89 per point and there are no sales incentives but you will be able to use Disney financing. You can probably find a resale in that price range (or less) more quickly.

Good luck!

We just purchased through a resale company, and the process was very simple. There is some wait time, but I think that is to be expected. There are some great resales listed with the same price as our purchase, and we went through the ROFR without a hitch. PM me if you have any questions.

We bought BWV last fall through Disney. While we might have saved a little money buying resale, buying through Disney was really convenient. We actually were staying there on our points whne our deed was officially recorded. Like, you we had rented points and that had really swayed us. Fair warning though, it doesn't take long before you get the add on bug! LOL!

Just a reminder that if you need to finance, buying from Disney might be your best choice.

We bought 150 points at the BWV last month as newbies...The waiting for the points was not the most fun activity in the world but we survived. If VWL is what you want and you want to finance through Disney, this is absolutely the way to go. If the resale financing doesn't work for you, then definitely call and get a guide and get on the waiting list. good Luck...

Thanks everyone. It's great to get some insight from both sides of the fence.

I recently bought a resale at VWL for, $76 a pt, 200 pts. It all went fairly quickly, about 23 business days from when I made an offer to close. I then called my guide and added on 37 additional points at VWL through DVC, because it actually was cheaper at $89 for a small contract than a resale with closing costs.

It was all very very easy. I received the same welcome kit etc from DVC.
