A woman my DH works with is going to WDW in Oct. with a group of 10. She told my DH that her friend (a florida resident) is going to buy their tickets. The friend is going to give them to this woman as a gift, so they can get the florida resident discount.

Now, this is not going to work for them, right? Aren't they going to have vouchers, then have to show their id to get the tickets? I am going to give her a call tomorrow and try to talk to her. DH said that he tried to explain how tickets work to her, but she kept emphasising the tickets were gifts from her friend who lives in Florida, so it was ok to use them.:sad2:

forgot to add- no one in their party is a Florida resident.

If a ticket is purchased at a Park location, each person 18 or older must show a photo ID that they are a Florida Resident. Each person's demographic information (Name Addreess, Date of Birth) is entered into the Automated Ticketing System (ATS) computer and the name is printed on the ticket.

If the ticket is purchased at other than a park loction (such as an AAA office, a Disney Store, by mail, phone or internet) a voucher is sent. This voucher must be taken to Park ticket Office or Guest Relations Office to be converted to a "live" ticket and a photo ID is required for everyone age 18 or older and their demographics put into ATS and their name will be on the ticket.

If a person came to my booth with a voucher and could not provide Florida ID I would allow them to apply the cost value of the voucher to a non-resident ticket of equal or higher value.

That makes me fell better to know that they could go apply the amount to the correct tickets. I was worried that they would have to buy new tickets outright & won't have the money with them. Thanks for the info.

Please tell them not to even try, Disney is very strict about this.
If they are looking for a deal, tell them to try Undercover Tourist for a small discount.

DH tried to tell her, but she thinks she knows better. I'm going to try 1 more time, then I give up. I'm going to print a few pages off the net to send with DH tomorrow.

Dh & i own property in FL and have FL only ID's. We are out of state now & I put the ID's somewhere 3 days ago and CANNOT FIND THEM!! AGH! We leave tomorrow and I want to buy a FL Res SAP. If I present a print out of my DL info along with photo ID's will that be enough? I have a friend who can get a DMV printout of our licenses showing local addy & that they are currently valid.

TIA

Valid Proof of Florida Residency

All Florida Resident tickets, including Magic Your Way Tickets and Florida Resident Seasonal, Annual, and Premium Annual Passes, require valid proof of Florida Residency per adult at the time of purchase, certificate redemption and /or use at the Theme Park, Water Park or Downtown Disney Pleasure Island.

Children under the age of 18 are not required to provide proof of Florida residency provided they are accompanied by an adult with valid proof of Florida residency.

Additional Information:
*
Florida Resident tickets are only available to actual Florida Residents and cannot be purchased for out-of-state family or friends.
*
An adult Florida Resident may purchase Florida Resident media for more than one Florida Resident from any location that provides an exchange certificate and not an actual ticket.
*
Children under the age of 18 are not required to provide proof of Florida residency if they are accompanied by an adult with valid proof of Florida residency
*
If the Guest has an exchange certificate, a valid form of Florida ID will be required when the exchange certificate is redeemed for the actual pass
*
One ticket only per valid proof of Florida residence (a Florida resident may buy tickets for minors in the party)

Exchange Certificates may say:
*
"After sale..., may not be transferred except as a gift." This means that the certificate may be given as a gift, so long as the recipient meets the defined Florida residency criteria.
*
"Purchase and redemption of this exchange certificate requires proof of Florida Residency."

For what it's worth, I recently moved to FL and when I got my new FL drivers licence they produced it and handed it to me on the spot. It might cost you a couple of hours and taxi fare if you're not renting a car, but I would think you could go to a drivers licence office and get a replacement ID printed immediately.

I would but we are arriving tomorrow from out of state & the DMV is not open on the weekends. Believe me I am stressing out beyond belief about this. I just had a baby & i think she sucked out some of my brain cells on the way out!

If it's any help, the DMV office at 4101 Clarcona Ocoee Road in Orlando is open 8am-1pm on Saturdays. :)

Thanks but we don't get in until after 1pm. I have my DMV printout with DL # name & addy & exiration dates plus a printout from FL DMV website showing that the id's are valid. I also have my expired FL Res SAP from last 2 years to show that we've already had them issued to us. Hopefully they will accomodate us, if not I will be SOL and have to buy the SAP next year when we visit again. I've torn my house apart 3 times. I'm sure I will find them as soon as I walk back into this house!

Sleep deprivation is a wonderful thing. :sad2:

I have a question also concerning Fl. resident passes. My sister-in-law is wondering if she may purchase resident passes for her out of state grandkids. She will be taking them in Dec.

Thank you
Linda

Officially the answer is no. However, from my answer above
Children under the age of 18 are not required to provide proof of Florida residency if they are accompanied by an adult with valid proof of Florida residency

I have property in FL and when I went this past Feb and used my FL resident ticket for the 1st time, no one ID'ed me or my husband for proof of residency.

We had our ID's just in case but were never asked to show them.

Same thing with my AAA membership, have an ID but did not have to show it at room check-in.
