Can a current non-DVC buy the "sold out" properties?

Can a current non-DVC buy the "sold out" properties such as BCV or BWV from DVC?

I am seeing threads regarding purchasing add ons for these resorts directly from DVC instead of a resale, but I did not know if DVC would sell those to a new member.

The Guides will do everything they can to steer you toward SSR. If you insist that you will buy but only at one of the sold out resorts, they will sell it to you. You may have to go on a long wait list and put some money down right away but you will eventually get one of the sold out resorts.

Ok, I'm learning......If you were able to talk them into selling you a sold out resort, would the price be same as SSR?

Yes you can! I bought VWL a coupla months ago. Our guide was actually really easy (we were referred by our parents - so we called him directly), my DH just said "We're not interested in SSR under any circumstances, and we'll only give you money if you give us VWL" He did have to say a few things (they're required to at least tell you about the resort and the 12 extra years and their incentives), but as long as you keep saying "we're only interested in X resort" you'll probably be fine.
If they don't let you, hang up and call back again and hope you get someone different.
We paid $92/point, but I think it went up to $95/point a few days ago... either way it's not the same price as SSR. I think HHI, VB, and OKW might have different prices as well... I wasn't keeping track as I had already bought!

I believe it is currently $95.00 per point at the sold out resorts. It went up from $92.00 on 4/1.
