Can a child get an adult DDP?

Hi guys, coming to WDW in September, and have a fussy nine yr old who doesn't much care for burgers/ nuggets/ mac and has a large appetite. He prefers meals with vegetables (I know right!!!). It will just be my son and myself. Can he get the adult DDP? I realise I would need to pay adult ticket prices, but is there any other issue?

There is no problem - just bump him up to a 10-year-old, pay the price difference for his tickets and you'll be all set! I did this last trip for my 9 yr old and all we paid was $20 more for the week for his ticket price difference. ( we had free dining so the DDP cost was not an issue)

As the pp said, you can change his age to 10 and pay the adult ticket price and he will get the adult DDP. I assume you have FD, so the difference in cost between a child ticket and adult ticket is all you will pay.

An alternative might be to chose restaurants that have better choices. Some have steak, fish, etc though not that many. Many buffet's would also not limit him to child's choices. Then if you did need to pay OOP here or there, it's be cheaper than paying adult price for tickets and the DP.
