Can a 3 year old sit on the lap for Fantasmic Dessert Preferred Viewing?

We reeeeaallly don't want to pay $59 for our 3 year old to have his own HUGE dessert box. Is it possible for him to just sit on our lap or will we have to pay for him because he is, after all, in the preferred viewing area?

i think since you have to get him a entrance ticket you have to get him one for that too :/

Only kids under 3 can sit on your lap, if you have to pay for admission, you have to pay for dining/preferred seating. That sucks to pay that much for a 3 year old though!

Unfortunately you do according to Disneys rules. I would call and explain and see if they will waive the fee. I have seen numerous small ones with their own seats.

I went ahead and called and the lady said that yes, he would be $50 whether or not he sat on a lap.

Sorry, kinda figured it would be that way. We always wind up taking the boxes back to the rooms and eat the goodies over the next few days.
