Can’t change January park reservations?

I was just thinking, and decided that on our first day, after coming from Universal, we’d be better off to go to Epcot, with a later opening on January 24.

It’s hard because I have an annual pass but the kids don’t, so I have to do them separately, even though we are having a resort stay. The calendar when I click “annual pass” shows no availability on 4 of the days that week, but for the theme park tickets option it’s wide open. I have to cancel our current reservations (for MK), and pick up Epcot- but I don’t want to cancel if none are showing available to me. Yet, if you click ‘availability calendar’, all parks are available all of those days.

It’s maddening, as I’m a pretty intelligent person but can’t do this simple task. I guess I have to call (?) and spend hours on the phone to switch an Epcot day and MK day in late January? Or is this a glitch that others are having and should I just wait?

If you have certain days selected already as park reservations, it will show up "unavailable" to you, so that you don't select that day again. So for example, if you already have a reservation for Jan.10, it will look unavailable to you now when you look at the reservation calendar. Once you cancel a reservation, it will be available again to book.

Ah, so I should double check the calendar and go ahead and cancel and then book one. It’s cumbersome, because I have to do it in two groups, one for the AP holder (me) and one for the kids, for each day. But I will do that- thank you!
Weird that the AP calendar today shows 0 availability though, and I only have 2 days reserved (we’re allowed 4).

Hmm, not sure why it's doing that. Strange times trying to figure all of this out!! Good luck!

Whatever was happening, it's all resolved now by using my desktop. I have no idea why the glitch, but it's still weird the way you have to do the AP person separate from the ticketed people during a hotel stay. I had to do mine, then deselect myself to do them, instead of the whole party at one time. You'd think the system would "know" that even an AP with an on-site stay could go as one party with the others, but I am guessing that it's because the Florida resident AP has weekends blocked out, and this ensures that my ticket is indeed valid. It's odd, though! Here's how it looks in MDE:

So I had to make mine, write it down and then make theirs. It was only a bit cumbersome, BUT it's only for four days. For a longer stay with more people with different ticket types, it'd be a real pain.

Anyway, it worked today on desktop. Now, onto following all the threads and posts on Genie and Genie + from now on!
