Can’t book using transfer points?

Hi,

I had a transfer of points into my membership, which I understood likely meant I couldn’t book myself at the 7-11 month mark for that resort (as it wasn’t one of my current homes for that membership). However, when I tried to book through Member Services, they couldn’t book either, but told me no problem, the room was on hold, and the reservation should be final in a couple of days.

Now about 2 months later, still no reservation, but I am told no problem as the room is still on hold and available for me.

Just wanted to check if anyone has navigated this issue before? Two months with no expected resolution date just seems like a long time for available points that should be able to book reservations.

Not had this problem. I can book with the transferred points online at 7 months or less.
 
If MS has it on hold, your fine.
They took the room out of inventory.
Normally, yeah, but after two months I'd be more concerned as to why the reservation hasn't been made and what is up with the points. OP says they knew they couldn't book before the 7-month mark, but did they mean to say they tried anyway, or did they wait until inside 7 months and couldn't use the points (and neither could MS)?

I originally tried booking in mid-January at around the 8 month mark. I was thinking the issue may have been around home resort priority, but 7 months has come and gone now and still no reservation.

I have checked in a few times since then, and all have assured me that the room is on hold, and nothing to worry about - just some kind of system glitch. However, if if they can’t figure it out after two months with no estimated fix date, it makes me wonder if they will/can resolve. One cast member mentioned that these things can take around two months to resolve, so I am in the realm of typical timing, but I have never experienced or heard anything like this previously.

I would have to think they would honor the reservation, but I am thinking about flights, and I feel weird not having a reservation number, anything on my Dashboard, etc. showing an actual reservation at this point.

I’d call and ask to talk to a supervisor and email MS so you can get I writing that the room is being held for you.

It just seems weird it can be booked.

But that's where I see the biggest problem: you don't have a reservation. MS says they have a room "on hold", which to me just means it's been taken out of inventory. Without an actual reservation with points from your account associated with that reservation, the room being out of inventory is no different than one that's been pulled due to a plumbing leak, etc.
 
Maybe ask them to issue you some confirmation number with your names in it.. so you will be at ease
