Cam's New Lease on Life Journal (comments welcome!)

Hi Cam
the wedding gown is absoultly stunning!! a real princess gown!! & so much gorgeous detail!
Glad the scale is coming down!
Hope you are feeling better & that work has calmed down too!

Oh Cam,

Your dress is absolutely beautiful!!!princess: I love it!:thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear that the scale is cooperating for you.:thumbsup2

I hope things at work get better for you soon. I bet some Disney/vow renewing dreaming during those stressful moments will help.:cloud9:

Have a great day!:cool1:

Thanks, everyone! Happy Easter!
I am working from home most of the day on taxes but will have to go into the office later to prepare for an emergency hearing tomorrow.
I am still so sick with this blasted cold and can't hear out of my left ear at all. The sneezing has subsided but the coughing is worse (court should be fun -- lots of cough drops). I feel so wiped out from being sick for 8 days. UGH!
Back soon, hopefully with a more positive attitude. :grouphug:

Hey Cam! Sorry you are still feeling yucky!!!

Sending :wizard: your way that you are feeling much better very soon!!!

Stacie

Hope you start feeling better, Cam! Spring colds are no fun!

Hang in there. The gown is gorgeous, warm FL sunshine is soon in your future & the countdown to VR is well underway.

Have a good rest of the week & take care of you!

Cam:

Oh, I'm sorry you're sick--and at this time of year, when you have so much work to do with the emergency hearing, you're planning so much for the VR, and you're getting back on top of everything. :sad2: I hope you feel better soon.

On a much lighter, brighter note--that dress. Oh, my! You're glowing in the pictures. And everything about it just screams YOU and your relationship with Howard (here, I'm thinking of the bodice, but I don't want to be more specific in case Howard reads your journal). You two are very blessed to find each other.

sending lots of :goodvibes :wizard:
hope you feel better soon Cam!

Thank you, everyone, for your good wishes for my health. :grouphug: I saw my doctor last night. One of the first things he said (I ADORE him!) is "I'm sure you have a marathon scheduled sometime soon, so let's figure out how to get you healthy!" Isn't he darling? I did correct him and tell him it is a 15k and it is early May, but this is impacting my training tremendously. :sad1: Anyway, my cold symptoms are better. The congestion is still bad but the worst of it is that I can't hear out of my left ear at all. I don't quite understand all the medical stuff, but my ear drum is retracted and the eustacian tube (?) is not functioning. There is a lot of fluid in the inner ear which is why I am so dizzy all the time. There was some other stuff he said but I don't remember. He gave me a nasal steroid spray, mega oral steroid (he had me take the entire first day's dose of 6 pills last night all at once), maximum strength sudafed, and direction to chew gum constantly, except when I am sleeping. He is concerned that if the pressure in my ear is not relieved soon, the eardrum will rupture. If the steroids & decongestant don't help by the beginning of next week, he will have his office get me in to my ENT on a quick basis.

Sorry that was so long!

Thank you so much, Debra! I simply cannot wait to wear the gown for Howard. I just can't describe how my whole being is yearning for the moment Howard sees me on January 12 at about 5:30 am before our Magic Kingdom photo session. :lovestruc

I know I posted the pictures in my planning journal, but you guys HAVE to see what he bought me on Saturday.

On to the things that are important for this journal. I am concerned about the fact that I have been eating compulsively and that I am up about 7 pounds still from my lowest adult weight. I really want to get back on track and try to lose this last 30-35 pounds. There are certain events we go to every year and I find myself being very resentful that each year I am STILL doing WW when I go to these events, and yet I have not met my goal weight yet. I really think I need to get on with my quest and finish it up.

So! I am going to a new WW meeting on Thursday mornings at 7:30 a.m. and am determined that I am going to start and maintain a downward trend and just keep it rolling. A fellow DISer and Disney bride to be lives nearby and goes to my gym, so we are going to come up with a schedule that works that gets us both to the gym together a couple of mornings a week.

Here I go!

So far, so good on WW today:

B: vitalicious corn muffin (1 pt); coffee w/skim milk (.5)
L: LC santa fe rice & beans over lettuce & tomato (5)
6:00 pre-gym "snack" -- WW english muffin breakfast sandwich (4)
D: LC chicken w/penne pasta (6); veggie soup with brown rice (3); diet pepsi

Oh, and I am taking my vitamin now.

WW Healthy guidelines
64 oz water -- 92 oz by 6:00  <-- this is Cam doing the potty dance! :lmao:
5 svgs F/V -- :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
2 servings non-fat dairy -- (harder to do) 1/2 svg
multi-vitamin -- :sunny:

Activity -- recumbent bike -- 60 minutes -- 11.43 miles -- 345 calories

Total points for day: 19.5/23 (too low, especially with the exercise, so I'll work on that today)

your DH is definatly one in a million!! :)

Thats a good idea to have someone to work out with..i hope that works out...no pun intended ;)

Thank you, Tracey! Howard is unbelievable and truly the proof that God answers prayers in a really big way! He spoils me rotten with his love and support. I told him this morning that I am going back to WW and he said "you know I think you are absolutely perfect and I love your curves, but I will support you in anything you want to do." :cloud9:

So, tomorrow morning, I'll do my fresh start at weight watchers. Friday, I am meeting my fellow DIS bride at the gym at 6:30. I am sooo excited to have found a workout partner. I am hoping I dont' bore her to death! ;) I'm psyched that she is going to teach me how to use some equipment I've never had the nerve to ask about -- the rowing machine and some upper body equipment. And hopefully I will motivate her in some small way to repay the favor. :cutie:

enjoy your workout cam :)
just beware of the rowing machine - i cant use it as it really hurts my shoulders & neck (old whiplash injury!!)
take it steady!

Thanks for the warning, Tracey! My back is still fragile from when I tore my middle trapezoid muscle (?) in September and went through physical therapy into mid-December.

I went back to WW this morning. The last time I was there was 7/3/07 and I was up 4.2 pounds. That's 8 1/2 months. Glad that I only gained 4.2 pounds but it is a trend I am determined to halt. It's time to get serious and get this finished. Just like a marathon. The reward is at the finish. There is a lot to be gained along the way in terms of discipline and strength but for me nothing will be as satisfying as knowing I finished what I set out to do.

As of this morning, I am 32.6 pounds away from my goal.

Today's food plan:
B: coffee w/skim milk; multi-grain light english muffin with ICBINB spray & 1 slice fat free cheese (2)
S: fresh cut fruit (2)
L: huge lettuce & tomato salad (0); can of solid white tuna in water (4); lite popcorn (1); diet Dr. Pepper (0)
S: celery w/laughing cow light cheese (1.5); WW cheddar twists (2)
D: LC panini (6); baked potato (11 oz before cooking) (4)

Hey Cam!!! I will say again...What a lovely necklace!!! So pretty! I can't wait to see how everything looks together!

I'm glad you are feeling a bit better...Hope they get that ear thing worked out!

How cool is it that you have a fellow Dis'er and Disbride to workout with!!! I hope you have fun!!!

Stacie

Thank you, Stacie! I keep hoping I'll run into some heretofore unknown WISH team member in this area and we could do our training together, too! :cool1:

Cam...I'm sorry to hear you've been sick :(. I just caught up on your journal and HAD to stop by to tell you how beautiful your dress is!!!!! I am so darn excited for you and Howard! What a lovely thing to be doing...VR! Anyway...I hope this post finds you feeling much better!

Thank you so much for visiting, Amy! I fear I have been a terrible WISH journal buddy these days. Today is literally the first non-deadline day I have had at work since I took on a huge case on 1/25 (except for 3/17 when we were flying back from Colorado!) My equilibrium is still off because of my inner ear issue and I can't hear out of my left ear at all, so I am disappointed that I might not get a LR in this weekend. :sad1: I am going to be an optimist, though, and plan on a 5:30 am outing to the gym this Saturday. Once I get there, I'll have to see how things go as to whether I can TM at all.

Thank you so much for the compliments on the dress! I still go look at the pix on shutterfly every day. :lovestruc I just can't believe I will wear something so exquisite and I just can't wait to see Howard's face when I do! Of course, I'll have to make sure I don't do the typical taper-weight-gain in the weeks leading up to the marathon/vow renewal weekend! ;)
