We have stayed at disney twice before at the hotels so this will be our first time at the campgrounds does anyone have any advice as to a schedule they follow. The last couple of times we would come back to the hotel and take an afternoon break to rest up and it made a world of difference. When camping and when having to prepare meals it changes things a little.
thanks for the help.

We tend to kind of just fly by the seat of our pants, but that might be because we live close and are able to go more often. We do the afternoon break thing, and I agree, it makes a world of difference.

Unless you're planning on making huge meals, you should have no problem at all taking an afternoon break, having perhaps an early dinner, and then heading back out. Transportation works very well from the Fort, it's pretty much the same as if you're in one of the hotels.

About how long does it take to get from the campgrounds to the parks, if you are using Disney transport? I've read alot of articles that recommend driving your car instead of using their bus, but, uh, our "car" is attached to our "house" :confused3 so we will need to use Disney.

We are going to need to take a mid-day break, too, but it seems just awful to spend an hour getting home, and an hour getting back to the park. It's not so much the time out of the parks, as it is sitting on a bus for that long.

We were there Memorial Day week and the longest we waited for a bus was 15 minutes. We didn't have any problems with the transportation at FW. CBR was another story....

We like to get up, eat breakfast, and be in the parks by around 11 at the latest. We hang out in the parks until we are pooped, go back to FW, and sometimes go back in the parks after dinner and a nap for the little guys. Some days we don't even go in the parks at all until night time, and some not at all. The teenagers can go in on their own and I can hang out at the camper with the 4 year old and his cousins. Then again we have AP and are normally at Disney once a month or so in hotels, so I like to just enjoy the campground the few times a year we camp there. We will be there June 29-July 8, second week at FW this year and cant wait!

We usually eat a quick breakfast and go to the parks. Then come back in the afternoon, make dinner, then go back to park for the parade/fireworks or stay in campground and go to movie etc. If we know we are going to be at the parks most of the day I'll usually put something in the crockpot in the morning so we have dinner ready when we return. We haven't had a problems with transportation in the afternoon. It usually isn't busy at that time. Your going to love Ft. Wilderness:)
