We just got home from Anaheim, though we didn't camp we had the experience of our bus going to or by several camp parking lots - having a pop up camper ourselves we decided that none of them would be a place we would want to camp - not since priceline can be so cheap. That said there is one CG which some others have said is very nice, though a bit loud due to the fwy, but has some "green" to it. It is Canyon RV Park, their website is http://www.canyonrvpark.com/ They have a good map and some photos, try to get a site by the river vs. by the fwy.
Thank you for the input. We have not gone to DL yet, and are currently planning a trip. Camping would be great, but don't like the "parking lot" look. Canyon Park looks nice. If we go there, I will post my thoughts.

We just got back. My sister camped while we were there. I think they stayed at Harbor RV. I will double check to see if that is it for sure. I was plain and simply a parking space with hookup. There was no extra room for anything. If we would have had our pop up I don't know what we would have done. The spot was definately not big enough for that and a van. I know they did check out another one nearby and said it was better. I will see if I can get her to post on this.
we did stay at harbor rv. there seemed to be a lot of permanent residents there. it is pretty much a parking lot. there was a strip of gravel (about 2') in between us and the people behind us. a small pool, but the bathrooms seemed to be clean. we also had full hook-ups for like $30 a nite. not too impressive, but it was only about 1/2 mile from dl.
the other one was at the corner and it was called travelers world rv 333 w. ball rd. 714-991-0100. this one seemed to have a little bit better parking spots and a little bit of grass. we would try this one next time.
the only thing is once you get past the rockies you don't find campgrounds like we do here in wisconsin. little grass and trees, but you will save money by camping. good luck...
