I know it sounds crazy but its probably the only way we can afford to come to the fort. I am extremely nervous about not having a bathroom and having potential downpours. I have never been camping before in my life and I am a little nervous about it. We have an extremely large tent and a portable air conditioner. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! We will be going down with our DS 6 and possibly our five month old!

Check out the picture of you campsite thread, you will see plenty of tent pictures. Notice the tarps and drop clothes. Yes, it rains, you just have to be prepared. It doesn't last very long. Camping at the Fort in not like camping anywhere else in the country. Waking up in the morning being in part of the magic is just amazing. A quick bus or boat ride makes it easy to get around. Just be prepared for the weather and have fun.

We always go in Aug. and always have a great time. Just be sure to use the tarp under you tent and roll it. We have seen some get very wet.

I saw someone last weekend with a one of those pop up ez canopies over their tent. It was the same color of their tent, looked pretty easy to put up and it looked good. :) No clue if it works better than a tarp though...

PS
Disney has the nicestest air-condtioned comfort stations with great showers. So don't worry about not having a bathroom. :thumbsup2

OP just wondering what the cost difference is between a value with room only discount and campsite?

Well yet again my dreams of camping get put on tge back burner. This is the third year we were supposed to camp but we really don't wanna leave the baby and now we are just going the end of september beginning of august with the free.dinning we originally booked. Maybe when we get our aps things will change.

When the time finally comes, make sure your tent and any other shelter you have are secured well to the ground. And, make sure your rain guard and tent have no leaks. Having wet things is the worst. No matter what the forecast, close everything up tightly when you leave for the day. Showers pop up all the time in Florida. Finally, request a site close to the comfort station. Good luck!
