Camping..but not at Disney????

Ok, I have turned to these boards for various things. We have RV camped at FW years ago(was not our RV). Now we want to buy a tent and go tent camping at Hershey park. Has anyone had experince camping there? I went there many years ago as a child and can remeber having fun. We are a family of 5,DH, myself, DD 8, DD7, DS5. Has anyone found any useful boards or sights related to Hershey Highmedows campground? Any help THANKS
( I should also say that I am a Girl Scout leader and am outdoor trained, so it is not like we are just going out there with no experience) AGain THanks

We camped at Hershey's Highmeadow Campground a couple of summers ago. We had a great time. I think we stayed there for 3 nights. They have a nice pool and arcade area. They offer free transportation to Hershey Park and The Hershey Visitor Center. We did 2 days at the Park and serveral trips through the visitor center. They offer a ride through a fake factory. My kids loved the tour and you get a small candy bar at the end. They also have a food court with excellent ice cream treats. I'm sure that you'll love it. We intended to go back this summer, but since we have WDW APs we are headed back to FW.

I live 20 minutes from HersheyPark and we always have a great time there. I haven't camped there but we have taken a drive through the Himeadow Campground. It is a very nice looking and clean campground. One thing - this place is BUSY - reservations are required. Also, don't let them put you next to the railroad track - that can get loud.

thank you for the info. I will do more searching. Can I request to not be by the railroad but be by a restroom? 3 small kids plus long walk to bathroom could be trouble! I will be making ressie soon. Thanks
