Campfires at Fort Wilderness

Just a question about campfires at Fort Wilderness. I was reading that there arent fire pits at the sites, but you can bring your own enclosed pit and as long as there isnt a burn ban, you are fine. Does anyone know if they sell firewood at Fort Wilderness? And do they have specific hours for campfires? I know some campgrounds we have been to only allow them until a certain time at night.

Campfires must be in mesh enclosed firepits with a solid top and bottom. I have never seen any restriction on hours for fires, but there are quiet hours, so hold it down at late night burns. I think I recall firewood bundles are available to preclude bringing in infested wood from other locations, but others will have to clarify that. You are right about only burning if there are no restrictions in place for those particular dates, and there are a lot of them in FL.

OK great, thank you. We do have a firepit like that, we actually purchased it last year for use at a different campground. We figured they would sell firewood there, I know most campgrounds dont like you bringing your own in anymore.

No firewood 4 sale there. You can also roast a mallow or weenie at the campfire movie/show nightly.

At the risk of sounding unpopular..... the lack of campfires at the sites at Ft Wilderness is one of my favorite things about it..... I don't come away from a camping trip with a smoky smelly coach..... *shrug*

But that's just me.....
