Campfire sing along question?

We are nor staying on the property. We will be at Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner (7 pm) on our first night. After dinner we would like to wait for The Electrical Water Pageant (about 9:45 at Wilderness Lodge) and it would be great if we could stop by the campfire. But will we be able to do that? Is it only for resort guests? Andhow about the distance? From Whisp. Canyon to Meadow Trading Post and then the FW beach and marina. Are they close to each other? Or maybe we should do the carriage ride?
There will be 5 of us: myself, my parents (in their 60th) and kids (12 and 6). We are going last week of October.

Do you mean the campfire at Fort Wilderness? Despite the fact that they both have "Wilderness" in the title, the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness aren't within walking distance of each other. You have to take a boat or bus to the Fort and then change to another bus to get to where the campfire is. For me and mine it would be way too much hassle for a campfire - even if Chip and Dale were still there.

It is great fun for my family to do the campfire! It is not much to ride the boat or bus. And the best part is it is free. It is a must do and the kids love it. I believe it would be a mile though if you walked between the two resorts. Hope this helps.

You can walk from the Wilderness Lodge to the were the campfire is at but it will take atleast 30 minutes to do. Easiest thing to do is take the Orange, Yellow, or other Fort Wilderness bus to the campfire. You can always ask the bus drivers where to get off and what bus to get on if your confused. They are more then happy to help.

I have always wanted to try this with my kids too. We had lunch at the Whispering Canyon Cafe - so it was too early for the campfire. If you do try this, come back and let us know what it was like. Have fun!

If the kids like to roast marshmallows, and you don't mind a long trip to roast them, you can do this. However, you might miss most of the fun of the campfire since Chip and Dale may be gone and the movie already started. (check the movie start time and see if you think you can make it after dinner. Figure 40 min to get there after finishing your meal.)

You could take your car from whispering canyon to the parking area at Ft Wilderness so that you don't have to wait for the boat, which might be going to Contemporary and then Ft. Wilderness.

From the Dock: you walk past Trails End and HDD to the bus stop and ask the bus driver if your bus goes to the campfire (I think 2 out of 3 do).

From the parking lot, walk to the big covered bus stop area and (you know the drill).

During the campfire, you can watch the clock and then hop on a bus to the dock/beach. If you are able to time it right, get on a boat right before the fireworks and you can have your very own (free) fireworks cruise! (We took a round-tripper to MK one night and saw the whole show.)

If you were having dinner at Trails End, it would all be much easier time-wise.

We are planning on going to the campfire after our dinner at Whispering Canyon but our ressie time is at 5:00. The CM that booked us said it would give us plenty of time to make it to the campfire.

Last December we did the campfire as my youngest DD had always wanted to do it. It was a lot of fun. I have the cutest pictures of them eating s'mores with their Christmas hats. We had dessert first though. We did the campfire first & cut out before the end of the movie. They were playing Belle's Christmas which we have on video. We then headed to Trail's End for a late dinner. We actually enjoy Trail's End more than WCC.
