Hi -

Can someone tell me if the roasing of s'mores is during the sing-a-long...if so, i've heard that they sell s'more kits, but can one bring their own s'more stuff or does it have to be purchased...

second question...does the sing-a-long last about 1/2 hour or an hour?

third...can one head over to the beach area to watch the boat parade after the sing-a-long or do you have to pick between one or the other...

thanks so much...planning a multi-family trip and trying to come up with an itinerary that gives the group options...and this board has really has great info!!!!

Yes, Smores are almost a must (in my opinion) and can be purchased at the campfire or you may bring your own and roast them during the sing a long. There is also a movie shown after the sing a long..
Sing a long is about a hour or so.
The sing a long will be over and then you can head over to see the boat parade, the boat parade starts at 9:45 each night. You may however need to miss part of the nightly campfire movie to see the parade,,:confused3.

Ya'll are gonna hava blast !! pixiedust:

Fish'n is pretty good at the Fort too, :goodvibes

Highly suggest bringing your own s'mores kit and roasting sticks. Outrageously priced there... We always buy the cookies with chocolate on one side to make it a quickie s'more. Lol

You can bring your own s'mores kit or buy one....the sing a long usually lasts 30-45 minutes but you can roast marshmallows before. There is a Disney movie that plays every night following the sing a long, they keep the fires burning during the movie. As for the beach, anyone can go down there and watch the parade on the water. There are chairs there if you get there early. If you don't stick around for the movie, you should have no problem making it to the beach to see the parade....I hope this helps with your planning. Have a great trip

thanks y'all! those are all great suggestions! i want to make sure we enjoy as much time at the fort as possible!

anything special that goes on after the 9:45 parade or does the fort wind down?

. . . you can buy them or bring them
. . . obviously, bringing your own is A LOT cheaper

second question...does the sing-a-long last about 1/2 hour or an hour?
. . . roughly 45-minutes
. . . can be longer or shorter, nbased upn audience participation
. . . afterward is the outdoor movie(s)

. . . yes

. . . The Fort never really "winds up"
. . . they have the nightly campfire, and the nightly water parade
. . . but, after all, The Fort is still just a campground

The starting time for the movie I think varies with the seasons and what time it gets dark. When we were there in early April, they lit the fire at 7, sing along at 7:30, the movie usually started around 8:20. That would leave plenty of time to get the the beach for the 9:45 parade, maybe only missing the last of the movie. Also, although I brought my own s'mores stuff, of course I forgot to bring the sticks to the fire. People were very willing to share, especially the people about to throw their's away as they were leaving the next day! Enjoy, the Fort is amazing!

thank you thank you thank you for all these great suggestions...this board is just filled with amazing details...folks really love the fort and seem so happy to share info!

again, thank you!

The cabin deck looks really good wrapped with rope lights.

Just returned from 9 days over July 4th week. I've always wanted to visit the campground, so we planned a whole evening there. Dinner at Trail's End, then went to the campfire/sing-a-long/movie. We took our own stuff for s'mores and bought the roasting stick there for about 79 cents. Much cheaper than buying the kits there. As others have said, the time changes based on the season. It's set up so that the movie starts just as it's getting dark. Autographs and pictures with Chip and Dale is part of the fun, too. I saw several people roasting wieners, too. We plan to do that next time and have our whole dinner there! We absolutely fell in love with the campground, and now I've planned a Christmas 2014 vacation. Going to buy a hybrid and spend every vacation there! Have a great time on your trip! :cool1:
