Is it worth going to FW cmpground for the nightly campfire program? Thinking about going on a night we only send half a day at the park.
Thanks

I would love to know about this too. We were thinking about going as I think my 4 yr old son would really like it but not sure if it is worth the trip over there. Looking forward to hearing about it.

My Dh took our DD to the campfire program at FW when she was 3 years old and she still talks about it! We will be going again this Thursday night after arriving at WDW and checking into PC in the afternoon. DH said DD really liked it and DD talks about going often. She doesn't even know we are going to WDW this weekend! We are taking her out of school early on Thursday and flying to Orlando (her first time flying)! We are going to eat at Trails End and then head over to the campfire.

i found some information on the campfire program. It is held nightly near the Meadow Trading Post at FW. It is free but, only open to WDW resort guests. They have a marshmallow roast around the campfire and have about a 40 min. sing along which Chip and Dale attend. (you can buy marshmallows there or bring your own) Then the show a disney film.
If anyone has been to this I'd still love to hear what you thaught about it.

The campfire program is a lot of fun. They have a sing along and meet and greet with Chip and Dale then after there is a movie. Check the camping at Disney forum, they have a list of all the movies there each month. You can buy marshmellows with sticks there to roast at the campfire- that's always a lot of fun.

Just my opinion here but.........we did this on one of our last days at WDW and my children were not that impressed. After a week of doing and seeing so much they thought it was kind of lame and were certainly not blown away by fun. Plan it at the beginning of your trip and it'll be a fun low key evening.

Ms. Sundee does the sing a longs except on Sunday & Monday. She is wonderful to watch and a pleasure to talk to. She interacts with the audience well. She has an unlimited amout of knowledge about anything Disney. We go to the campfire the first night of arrival everytime. Ms. Sundee knows every one of my kids by name (sometimes even I can't do that) and takes the time to speak to and hug each one. We bring our own smores making kits to save $. If we like the movie, we will stay to watch it. If we don't care for the movie that night, we hop on our golf cart and head to the beach for the fireworks over MK and the water parade. I think it is worth it to try at least once.

It is fun to watch the movie, therefore, plan on going for a night you like that movie.
S'mores kits are about $2 and outfit 2 people. They have inexpensive snacks & hotdogs, too.

The movie schedule is posted on the 1st day of each month over on the Camping Board. It is not available prior to that (anywhere).

Depending on where you are staying/coming from, it is fun to ride the boat over to FW. You might also want to visit the petting zoo, but that closes a little earlier.

Depending on the time of year, the movie might be "late". We like to go when we don't have an early morning the following day.

Wow, thanks for all the info. We are going to WDW on 4/27 and want to do this that night of arrival. I've always wanted to do this. (blush)...I never knew about the camping board. Thanks!
