Campfire at POR?

Hello! I remember reading somewhere on the DIS that POR now offers a campfire by the pool at night. Does anyone know anything about this? Has anyone had experience with it? We are going in March and would love to attend a campfire at POR. Thank you!

I'm curious to see about this as we leave at the end of the week. This is something I think my boys would like to do.

I was just there last week and believe it or not I'm sorry to say I can't remember the days that they have this. I know it's only 3 nights. Something like, Sunday, Tuesday and Friday nights. You need to make a ressie as they don't have much room. It's located behind the playground at the main pool area.

Since I'm considering POR for a couple of nights on our next trip I wanted to get the scoop on this campfire. So I called POR and after being transferred to a few different people I confirmed that there is indeed a campfire event at POR. It is held on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00. It is a free event, but reservations are required due to space limitations. Smores kits are available for $5. They tell stories, sing songs, and roast marshmellows/make smores.

This is great to know! We have ressies at POR for October. This would be a fantastic thing for the kids to do. We had thought of bringing them to FW for the campfire there, but will definitely do the one at POR instead.

The FW campfire does have characters (Chip and Dale) and a movie, so it does offer more, but the POR sounds like fun too.

Sounds like fun to me too. I have a 3 & 9 year old who will love it. We're there in June. Are the bugs bad at that time of year?

Rebecca, I'm sorry I can't answer your question. We didn't go to the campfires. We live in the northeast and we have a trailer in Rhode Island so we have campfires in the summer there and fires in our fireplace at home in the winter. I hope DisneyKidds answered your question for you.

Hi all. I called to make reservations for the campfire at POR. It took me forever to find someone that didn't think I was losing my mind! A Disney reservations CM looked through his info and said that it didn't exist. He even talked to his manager who confirmed that I was incorrect. They were certain that I had it confused with FW. Anyway, I asked to be transfered to POR. They happily did so. I got guest relations. They also confirmed that I was incorrect. Next, I was transferred to the front desk. There a very nice young man, confirmed that I was incorrect! lol Finally, he asked a manager who told me that I wasn't losing my mind!

Here is what they told me. They have a campfire on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. To make a reservation, between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, hit #76278 on your room phone. If you want to make them ahead of time, call the resort and ask for x6278. I'm thinking that since no one seems to know that it exists, there is no reason to do it before we arrive! lol
