camper opinions about Pleasure Island

Sorry Rhonda, I had some great times there too, I just don't think it drew much of a crowd anymore :(

And I wouldn't worry about the comedy club, it's one of (if not the) most popular places in Pleasure Island, I don't see it going anywhere.

But then, I didn't see River Country going anywhere, either.

I never did make it to river country, what was it like? Why did it close? Just wondering. I am 6'8", I am going to try to take some pics over the top of the fences while we are there next week. LOL

It closed because there were too many tall guys trying to get in.

Trust me, if I tried to get in when it was open, there wouldn't have been an overcrowding problem, a stampede of people trying to get out when I took off my shirt.

Maybe I should pack my wire and bolt cutters, so I can check it out. Then I will have a great story for the "have you ever been in trouble at the fort" thread..... :rotfl2:

Don't forget to bring a towel!

Would kungaloosh work? I have plenty of fixin's in the TT allready. Oh and what is the best peacock repellent? I really don't want to be over run by those maniacal birds.

The last time I was at River Country (1996) I was sitting on a lounge chair and a women stood right next to me and proceeded to take off her suit and change into street clothes. Lord, I LOVED that place!

Best peacock repellant - Trail's End chili, but it must be processed through your digestive tract first.

I bet she was from europe, they will take their clothes off anywhere!!

oh yeah, we're getting this thread locked up real quick EWWW!!!

I saw those this morning, it looks like it was really cool. I am sorry I missed it, but I am not much into water parks, and pools, it's a fat guy phobia thing.

I loved River Country. I don't care much for those other water parks, but RC will always be dear to me. My BIL CM says it closed down due to pollution and gator problems :scared1:

lol, there are many rumours about why it closed (FLESH EATING BACTERIA!!!).

In all reality, Florida passed a law a while back making it illegal to have a natural water fed "water park". That and the emergence of the bacteria in Florida lakes during the summer is probably what did it in. With the law on the books now, you'll never see River Country again, at least as it originally was.

Why is that?????? Us fat guys LOVE to swim, because face it, we're pretty dang buoyant!!!! But I hate taking my shirt off in public....like "People wont be able to tell I'm fat if I keep the sexy tank top on!" We need therapy...and more cinnamon rolls!!!:sad2:
