Richard: Richard hiked with Missy through the camp and into the forest, coming across a small stream. He splashed across the ankle deep water.
Missy: Missy stayed to the other side and let him cross without her, refusing to cross the stream. She made up a very convincing lie about how she didn't want to get her shoes wet.
Richard: Richard splashed across the stream and picked Missy up as he walked back. He then continued to carry her until they got to a dry patch.
Missy: Missy thought quickly on her feet and gave Richard a hug. She then began to trudge along in the forest.
Richard: He told her stories about how his life was in France.
Missy: Missy did her best to pay attention. She was really wondering how Kari thought this guy was attractive, he was boring!
Richard: Richard didn't catch any boredom on her face. As he continued, memories of his past girlfriend came washing back to him.
Missy: Missy tried her hardest to be engaged. She asked, "What's wrong?"
Richard: Richard hadn't noticed that he'd stopped talking. Richard replied, "It's nothing."
Missy: Missy slipped her hand into his awkwardly. She said, "Kari again?"
Richard: "No, I was just thinking about my other girlfriend, the one I had back in France." Suddenly, Richard told Missy the whole story of how he wasn't there to save her.
Missy: "Oh, I'm not sure what to say other than sorry, although I'm sure you've probably only heard just that." Blushing, Missy couldn't help but feel bad for him.
Richard: Richard shrugged. "Yeah."
