Hello everyone, not sure if anyone remembers but we posted about our youngest son's MAW trip last October, and now it is time to post about the experience with his older brother.
Cameron is 4 and was diagnosed with NF1 when he was about 18 months old, he was not thriving like he should and he had various learning and physical delays, our youngest son (our other wish kiddo) has the same disease. They got the disease from the their mother (it is genetic), her father and her grandfather had it, it is more prevalent in males, we have two older girls are as healthy as horses.
We weren't sure if Cameron would qualify with his disease and most times he would not have but Cameron has white spots on his brain, that are slowly developing as tumors. We weren't even sure about asking because of the hospitality everyone has shown us with John. But Cameron's doctor suggested it and then we get a call from MAW, asking if our t-shirt sizes had changed. And that they would be sending a volunteer, our volunteer was the same one we had for John's trip.
Cameron has been through alot and is still going through alot, he even donated marrow to John for John's BMT.
Our volunteer came out about a month ago, and Cameron told him that he wanted to go back to the bunny house. Cameron was so enthralled with GKTW that he wants to go back.
We filled out all of our paperwork and now we are waiting to hear back for our dates.
We will keep you updated as we progress
Thank You for following us as we begin another journey
