Does anyone have any tips for getting a camera to take good night shots of lights? We are going to be there for the first time for Christmas and know we are going to want to take lots of pictures of the lights. Our camera takes awesome night shots, but it blurs the christmas lights for some reason. I've messed with the iso speed, turned the flash off completely, etc and haven't had any luck getting it to do better. If it helps anyone, I have a Kodak Easyshare. Has anyone had luck with a disposable taking good pictures like this? I hate to buy a new camera just for this purpose when ours is less than a year old.

Thanks so much for the help!!

I've moved this thread to the Photography board. Perhaps the experts here can share a few of their tricks. :)

Here's seconding a small tripod. There are typically lots of surfaces to stand a travel tripod (like the Gorillapod) on top of (i.e. trash cans, tables, ledges, etc.). The Christmas lights are getting blurred because of the camera shaking while you take the pictures. If your camera has a timer, you may also want to set it...the camera shakes even when you press down the shutter, by setting the timer and resting the camera on a stable surface, I'm sure you will get much better pictures than you have in the past.

Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't really thought of taking a tripod before. But maybe if I can find a small one it wouldn't be as bad.
