The new HP cameras have a shooting mode which claims to make people look around 10 pounds thinner. The theory is cameras make people look heavier and this mode is suppose to counter that.

Does anyone know how well it works? Can post processing through something like photo shop easily do the same thing?

you can work wonders with photoshop but the program cost me $600.00 a couple of years ago. read the reviews on adobe photoshop elements 3.0 and 4.0 and see which fits you better. it does lots of the editing chores of 7.0 with very little money a small learning curve. good luck. :thumbsup2

basically the camera goes into anamorphic-like mode and stretch any objects vertically therefore making the object looks 'thinner'.

So you are telling me that if I run out and buy one of these, I will not just be thinner....but I will also be taller????? I need one of these cameras now :cool1:

yes, and so do objects and people around you... so relative to your surrounding, you will still look as "big" as you are. This feature is only good for close ups.

it is easyer with photoshot...and better results...and if you know where to search it is free(for example I've heard of a network called DC++) :thumbsup2
